As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDETs) at Pearson, you have the opportunity to work on our mainstream products, impacting the success of the organization and our education system as a whole.
Our SDETs are capable of moving fast, breaking down, and solving complex problems at scale. Our test engineers own systems end to end, and influence the technology growth that impacts millions of customers across the educational space. Creating cutting edge automation frameworks, tools that improve and optimize engineering efficiency, top the job responsibilities of our SDETs.
Position is located at our Boston, MA office site.
What you will be doing as your key responsibilities…
• Develop automation and coding infrastructure to ensure that our validation engines can keep up with fast moving code base
• Ability to provide technical and analytical expertise to the team in testing methodologies and automation frameworks
• Provide testing strategy and guide scrum teams towards efficient high quality releases
• Conduct and analyze performance test over large scale distributed networks
• Work with your development counterparts to ensure code is reliable, testable and scalable
• Appetite to learn and tackle complex problems
Qualifications
What we are looking for…
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• 7+ years solid experience working with various systems, web browser automation, bug tracking and unit testing tools
• Strong object oriented coding skills
• Experience in at least one major scripting language
• In depth knowledge in problem solving, distributed systems, algorithms and databases
• Strong communication skills to articulate technical and quality issues
• Ability to work with abstract problems
