The Content Developer will be responsible for developing assessment content, primarily for computer based test delivery. This involves review of client item banks and conducting gap analyses, conducting stakeholder and focus group meetings, facilitating training of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on the item writing process, facilitating item writing and review meetings, designing the client specific workflow arrangements and setup requirements for the item banking tool. The content Developer will provide support to the Content Development Manager when necessary in all areas relating to content. Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
• Liaising with programme and project teams as appropriate
• Working with clients to determine their content development requirements
• Recruiting and training Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for item writing and review
• Coordinating the process of fulfilling requirements for images, language translation and audio, if necessary
• Conducting item writing and item review sessions
• Reviewing items for adherence to house style and test specification
• Specifying the setup requirements for the item banking tool for Pearson VUE clients ensuring that all requisite item elements are captured
• Managing documentation relating to the item production process ensuring version control is updated and that the total security of all materials is maintained
• Escalating risks to the Content Development Manager and Programme Manager
• to ensure that solutions are found and high quality examination items are developed within deadline
• Identifying process improvement opportunities
• Documenting processes
• Ensuring that items are prepared on budget and to schedule
• Managing item writers and/or subcontractors
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Content Development Manager
• Coordinating work with the Content Editors
Key Tasks
• Conducting meetings with clients and key stakeholders
• Liaising regularly with item writers via phone, email and in person
• Designing client item banks ensuring all relevant item classifications have been captured
• Developing and delivering item writing training materials
• Facilitating item writing and review sessions, either virtually or in person
• Monitoring progress against project plan
• Checking that the item writers have provided all the required materialsand references
• Creating image briefs to detail illustration requirements
• Developing and documenting procedures for test development processes
• Report writing (for example, Implementation Plans, Item bank gap analysis reports)
• Keeping Programme Manager and the Content Development Manager informed as to the status of the project
Essential skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
• Experience in the development of assessments
• Experience in delivering training and the development of training materials
• Experience in facilitating focus groups and/or stakeholder meetings
• Experience of working directly with clients/ managing client relationships
• Concentration, accuracy and attention to detail
• A methodical working style
• The ability to work on several tasks at any one time
• Tact and diplomacy
• Selfmotivation and the ability to take initiative
• IT skills, with experience of Microsoft Office products and technologies
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Proven outstanding level and knowledge of English language (written and oral) Report writing and presentation skills

The Salary for this position is £90,000 to $95,000 per year
