As head of Strategic and Product Planning, you will:
• Evaluate and define the long term business opportunities and strategy
• Evaluate and test new technologies and consumer trends
• Develop new business cases and analyses to help prioritize investment decisions
• Lead the overall strategic planning for the wireless group
• Guide the investment and prioritization for product planning and partnerships
Primary responsibilities:
• Partnering with the product/marketing team to develop strategic 12 to 36 month roadmaps encompassing new technologies, business relationships and industry changes
• Developing new business relationships and partners to improve the overall wireless offering, which could include new channels (e.g. business services), new technology (e.g. WiFi integration), new business models (e.g. zero rated, multiple MNOs) etc.
• Support the organizations decisions and investments through business models and strategic assessments across both new products (e.g. custom traffic routing on MVNO) or prioritization of roadmaps decisions (e.g. BYOD)
• Developing a collaborative team that works with product, technology, operations and corporate strategy to bring a long term view of the future roadmaps
• Hire, mentor and grow high performance individuals who can be graduated to key roles
• Provide overall wireless ecosystem market sizing and forecasting, competitor analysis and technology trending for the broader organization
• Partner with our internet and technology teams to outline a long term strategy for WiFi integration with wireless internal to Comcast and to the cable industry at large
Preferred requirements:
• Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree (MBA, MSEE or equivalent) preferred
• 10+ years in product, product strategy or product planning roles. Consulting experience a plus
• Experience with startup businesses and products and large company processes and culture
• Rare mix of intelligence, tenacity, integrity and verbal agility that allows you to earn the trust of business, product and marketing teams across the company.
• Clear, concise ability to communicate verbally, in documents and via PowerPoint is a must.
