Position Summary:
The Director of MENA Partnerships is a dynamic member of the Discovery Education International (DEI) team focused on building Discovery Education’s partnerships throughout the Middle East. As part its responsibilities the Director will be responsible for the acquisition of new partners, as well as the growth of existing partners, across our full suite of services, and custom solutions.
Responsibilities:
Business Development, 80%
• Own a revenue goal and maintain accountability toward hitting that target
• Manage incoming leads, and constantly develop outbound partnership opportunities from content licensing to bespoke education solutions
• Assist in exploring new partnership models and distribution channels for Discovery Education’s products and services
• Build strong relationships with partners and key regional stakeholders to maximize the value of Discovery Education’s full suite of content and solutions
• Maintain strong partner relationships, identifying opportunities to extend/ upsell existing partnerships, and cultivate new opportunities
• Work closely with the content, legal, and finance and other internal teams to facilitate various types of partner arrangements leading to final deal execution
• Works closely with the content team to clear rights for international exploitation and identify content for licensing/ acquisition specific to international needs
• Serve as point contact for product and content localisation requirements and defines level of effort associated with localisation
• Collaborate with internal content and subject matter experts to identify opportunities to repackage Discovery content to achieve business goals
• Collaborate closely with senior leadership to establish strategies to increase revenue and market share in the region and deliver on overall business goals
Discovery Ambassador, 20%
• Deliver high-level presentations to key global and regional stakeholders
• Serve as an ambassador for existing and prospective partners to visit Discovery’s global Lighthouse schools to observe Discovery’ssolutions in-action
• Employ a consultative approach to build, maintain & strengthen relationships with key decision makers
• Develop strategy to enroll international partners within Discovery Education’s professional learning community – the Discovery Educator Network (DEN)
Requirements:
• Target driven and proactive with a versatile, positive and determined nature
• Demonstrated strategic and consultative sales experience with focus on building partnerships, and ideally deep public and private contacts across several sectors throughout MENA
• Confident presenter, (as you will have to demonstrate Discovery’s solutions, either on a 1-to-1 or in formal presentation context), string relationship builder and persuasive negotiator
• Strategic thinker who enjoys creating and delivering large scale innovative education solutions that meet strategic revenue goalsResourceful and responsive to change – thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a strong sense of urgency
• Fluency in other languages highly desirable, with particular interest in Arabic
• Legal right to work in the UK and able to travel 70% of time
