The 2017 Summer Internship Program is open for dedicated and hardworking students.The goal of the Summer Intern program is to provide students with real-life business experience, while giving them the opportunity to learn about our industry in a setting that will broaden an entry level candidate’s professional experiences while promoting self-confidence, accomplishment, and career development.
The Summer Intern Program is 10 weeks in length and will run from May 30, 2017 through August 4, 2017.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the Direct Marketing and Customer Engagement teams in execution of email marketing and social media campaigns.
Direct Marketing duties include:
• Proof campaign communications
• Assist in maintaining campaign calendars for all targets, products, offers and geographic areas.
• Assist with post campaign analysis to identify campaign effectiveness and make recommendations for improved messaging, segmentation, formatting and timing.
• Expense tracking and budgeting.
Social Media duties include:
• Writing copy, researching daily trending topics, planning social calendar.
• Reviewing agency daily copy for accuracy.
• Network asset retrieval – accessing network and studio affiliate sites, downloading relevant images and videos for use.
Requirements:
• Proficient in Microsoft office applications – Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook Mail
• Facility with numbers, analytics, and reporting
• Marketing, Communications, New Media, Journalism or related major preferred.
• Ability to speak Spanish and familiarity with Social platforms are a plus, but not required
• Must be detail-oriented
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong passion demonstrated via energy levels, enthusiasm, creativity and commitment
• Must possess good interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
• Experience with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel and Access
• Some understanding of technology and telecommunications is desired
• Must practice good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
• General office skills
• Ability to commit to the length of the program
Rising Junior or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.0 preferably with a major in one of the functional areas listed below:
• Marketing
• Communications
• News Media/Journalism
