We are in the middle of a switch from perpetual software to a subscription model and the team you will be joining is at the center of this company-wide change. The Business Models and Platform Strategy team is responsible for providing the direction, strategy and management of the subscriber platform – used by over 12M+ customers globally to access Autodesk products every day. We are in the process of building out the platform to deliver an industry-leading subscriber experience that will differentiate us from our competitors. In this brand new role on the team, we need a creative and enthusiastic person to help us show customers how to get the most value out of the platform, and be the technical champion to our global community – both internally and externally.
As the Technical Marketing Specialist for the team, you will strategize, design, and build technical marketing content to drive customer adoption and success of the subscriber platform. Activities will include: direct interaction with strategic customers, the creation of data-sets, videos, imagery; use-case scenarios and technical PowerPoint presentations. You will also be required to present and deliver technical materials in a variety of ways, including: in-person and web meetings, industry events, and digital media channels (i.e. Autodesk.com, Autodesk Knowledge Network, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook).
As the Technical Marketing Specialist, you will also interface with Customers, Sales, Channel Partners, Business Development Managers/Directors, Product Managers/Product Line Managers and Industry Managers. You will be the first on the marketing team to test new software and provide feedback to the development teams.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Utilize technology and video as a means to illustrate a story
• Develop technical marketing materials such as: white papers, demo-sets, videos and PowerPoint presentations
• Incorporate social media activities into your daily life, imparting your own personality & industry expertise into brand and product awareness
• Typical project might include, developing a data-set, recording a workflow video and promoting via social media and marketing channels (i.e. Autodesk.com, Autodesk Knowledge Network, email nurture)
• Conduct on-going, detailed competitive analysis and produce documentation regarding competitors’ strengths and weaknesses
• Engage in product / service alpha and beta releases to gain early insights into upcoming software releases and provided development feedback
• Develop and maintain relationships with other technical marketing professionals at Autodesk, which also includes Application Engineers, Solutions Engineers, and Customer Success Engineers.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
• Experience at a subscription-based company
• Experience collaborating across diverse cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication skills. The ability to tell a story vs reading bullet points off of a PowerPoint. The ability to inspire audiences with your enthusiasm and outlook.
• Experience with social media and digital channels, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, web.
• Video editing or creation expertise. Adobe Creative Suite skills.
