Finance Director, Industry Strategy

We are looking for a trusted finance business partner to support Autodesk’s Business Strategy & Marketing [BSM] team at Autodesk. This role will be the senior finance leader supporting the company’s industry strategy, which covers architecture, engineering, and construction [AEC], manufacturing, and media & entertainment [M&E].
The right person for this role will demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration skills, financial aptitude, excellent business intuition, and the capability to work at multiple levels, including high level strategy and day-to-day financial details. The position will be a key member of the Division Finance team and will take a lead role in driving awareness and analysis of the company’s industry strategy across the Finance organization and beyond.
Primary Responsibilities:
Partnering/relationship management:
◦ Serve as Finance lead for three industry strategy functions (either directly or through extended team): AEC, Manufacturing, and M&E.
◦ Partner directly with Vice President, Manufacturing Industry Strategy as a member of line management staff. Play a key Finance role in our Manufacturing strategy, particularly the market expansion of Fusion360, our cloud-based, end-to-end manufacturing solution.
◦ Interface with other Finance groups. Be the voice at the Finance table for the industry strategy groups.
• Manage a team of four finance professionals.
• Lead finance efforts for the quarterly business review (QBR) process.
• Provide strategic, insightful analysis of industry results; assist industry strategy leadership in understanding industry performance trends in the results, what to watch for, where to focus go-to-market strategies.
• Lead development of the spend forecast (monthly), intermediate term spend budgeting (annually), and long-term financial planning (3+ year) for the industry strategy teams (working in partnership with the Sr Finance Manager, Core Marketing).
• Provide key financial support to aid in business decision-making and strategic planning, including the preparation of forecasts, financial models, and investment analyses. Examples may include creating financial models that illustrate potential opportunities in particular markets or industry segments, estimating return on investment from go-to-market strategies, etc.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional, intra-divisional, and/or global finance projects. Drive efficient, consistent systems and processes, leveraging best practices and benchmarking where possible.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to achieve better results. Follow standards and ensure compliance with policies as defined by Corporate.
• Help to enforce controls to fulfill fiduciary responsibilities, including required approvals.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (finance, business or accounting) and 15+ years of finance experience.
• MBA with an emphasis in finance or accounting preferred.
• Ambition to achieve increasingly challenging roles within Finance and drive to continuously grow professionally.
• Interest in the marketing/strategy functions: what these organizations do, what financial issues they face, and a desire to provide outstanding finance business partnering support to these groups.
