Responsibilities
The Manager, International Brand Management, Universal Parks & Resorts is responsible for developing and maintaining the brand standards of our International Theme Parks (Universal Beijing Resort, Universal Studios Singapore and Universal Studios Japan).
The manager must both understand the brand/business strategy for each International Park as well as assist in the development of the strategic communication briefing documents with a goal to guide internal and/or external resources in the development of creative.
This includes, but is not limited to writing creative briefs, delivering on the communication strategic framework and ensuring marketing plans for channel areas are aligning with the campaign brand strategy by being the brand advocate for the campaign.
The Manager is a key leader within the Universal Parks & Resorts International Management team, responsible for ensuring all creative utilized to market our existing international resorts, is aligned with marketing campaigns and approved through our various Licensed Partners. This includes campaigns developed internally, through external agencies and with third parties (partnerships, promotions, symphony etc.)
This role is also responsible for independently managing all existing marketing programs in country. This person will communicate marketing strategy to our International Parks and work to optimize media and promotional value.
The position requires strong project management and interpersonal skills in a challenging but rewarding environment. To be successful, the Manager must be a team player with experience in managing multiple accounts and the ability to handle complex stakeholder relationships and be comfortable with taking a 'roll up your sleeves' approach. Role must be passionate about Universal, our partners and driving innovative thinking, challenging the status quo, and provide hands-on leadership to implement successful strategy.
The position will be based in Orlando but will have frequent communications with Universal Parks & Resorts leadership internationally.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Corporate Partnership Creative Liaison – International:
◦ Manage the development of pitch materials for Universal Beijing Resort internally or through third party vendors. This includes collateral, digital materials, short form videos and copy.
◦ Manage all logo and key art assets for use.
◦ Interface with Corporate Partnership team on various Integrated Marketing Communications needs.
◦ Partner with 3rd party creative contractors hired to help build sales/marketing assets for use in partnership pitches.
◦ Interface with Universal Creative team developing all Universal Beijing Resort assets.
◦ Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
◦ Manage timelines of key projects to ensure tactics are delivered on time and within budget.
◦ Submit projects for review and consolidate feedback.
◦ Provide timely feedback to the Creative Team.
◦ Share final products with all key stakeholders.
• Brand and Campaign Management – International:
◦ Evaluate Universal Studios Singapore and Universal Studios Japan Marketing and Sales projects. Maintain documentation necessary to communicate accurate progress of submissions including responses, change requests, and the final outcome.
◦ Develop plans and execute Asia-Pacific Symphony Support Plans for Universal Studios Singapore and Universal Studios Japan.
◦ Develop Universal Parks & Resorts Brand Guidelines and
conduct training sessions.
◦ Coordinate and maintain competitive marketing programs from China, Singapore and Japan.
• Other Duties:
◦ Maintains strong industry knowledge of NBCUniversal and our partner’s businesses.
◦ Protect Universal Parks & Resorts / Universal Beijing Resort and related Licensed Brands.
Qualifications/Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A strong understanding of marketing strategy.
• A history working with licensors.
• A track record of performance meeting targets and objectives.
• Cross-functional expertise and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment.
• Strategic and analytical thinker with strong critical decision-making and communication skills.
• Create strategic presentations/recommendation documents.
• Work closely with the business teams across Universal Parks & Resorts.
EDUCATION: High school degree or GED, Associate’s degree (AA), Bachelor’s degree are required. Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in managing marketing programs within paid media/social media, consumer products, packaged goods, telecom, entertainment and/or tourism industry.
• Proven track record of successfully integrating marketing campaigns with various businesses.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook with an emphasis on PowerPoint.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents.
• Must be able to write routine reports, business correspondence and timelines.
• Must be able to effectively present information to individuals and groups.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
• Must have strong organizational and project management skills.
• Working knowledge of Workamajig workflow system is a plus, but not required.
• Previously worked in multicultural environments, a plus.
• Familiarity with China/Singapore/Japan social media and related trends, a plus.
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, a plus.
