AEG owns a collection of companies including multi-use facilities such as STAPLES Center and Home Depot Center in Southern California, several sports franchises including the Los Angeles Kings (NHL) and Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS) and AEG LIVE, one of the world's leading concert promotions and touring companies. AEG is also currently overseeing the development of L.A. LIVE, 4 million sq. ft. downtown L.A. sports, residential and entertainment district.
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of daily and monthly financial accounting duties including account reconciliations and analysis, preparation of journal entries and related monthly close documents, financial records maintenance and monthly financial reporting. The position requires solid knowledge of accounting principles and experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reconcile and analyze GL accounts including bank accounts, accounts payable, deferred revenue, accrued liabilities, and other accounts as required
• Create, reconcile and map financial reports as requested
• Monthly review and booking of PO’s and all Overhead related accruals, including intercompany transactions
• Process, reconcile and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports as required
• Circulate reports & conduct monthly Overhead reviews with each department
• Preparing and posting various journal entries as required
• Assist in the compilation of monthly financial results and internal reporting requirements
• Provide support and assistance as needed for external audits
• Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures
• Developing and implementing improved accounting policies and procedures
• Book and reconcile Brooklyn Nets and NY Islanders game day results
• Assists with deposits
• Manage monthly filing and archiving
• Perform other accounting and general office duties as required
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, currently CPA certified or pursuing certification strongly preferred
• Minimum of 1-3 year(s) of financial accounting experience
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office Software, particularly in Excel (including pivot table & vlookup functions)
• Proficient knowledge of accounting software systems, JD Edwards Enterprise One experience a plus
• Ability to communicate to management as it relates to finance and operation activities
• Ability to take direction well and work well with others.
• Ability to be flexible and redirect focus of priorities if needed
• Attention to detail while working under pressure to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with minimal supervision
• Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to accommodate monthly, quarterly and year-end closings
