Description
Context
Reporting to the Digital Production Manager, Learning Services and working as part of the Learning Services, Operations and Delivery team, this role will help scope, produce, test and deliver digital projects (including assets and online and blended course development projects, ranging from low to high complexity in nature. You will project manage digitally smart, user friendly solutions that improve learning outcomes and meet customer expectations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of team dedicated to producing and delivering digital solutions and assets using Pearson and third party platforms and authoring tools.
Support
You will help support and advise the technical, instructional design and content leads on the options available in the creation and delivery of digital products, ensuring that solutions meet client requirements and are feasible in the timeframe and budget. You will become an expert in video and audio production, asset delivery and optimization, LMS delivery platforms, authoring solutions and their capabilities whilst understanding their limitations in order to advise teams accordingly.
Project Management
• Responsible for the production and management of your own projects. Given the need to accelerate time to market, manage each assigned project whilst continuously assessing and prioritising your list of projects in order to maintain high standards that result in the delivery of an accurate and professional final product, on time and to budget.
• Report regularly on production status of projects assigned
• Resolve all project-specific issues as they arise, ensuring that key stakeholders are aware of any delays or effect on milestones which may affect delivery. Take responsibility for ensuring that budgets are met and advise line manager and dependent teams if costs are likely to exceed budget for projects worked.
• Maintenance and on-going review of efficient project management processes and documentation. Where changes occur through internal business requirements or other areas - process changes are documented clearly.
• Risk and issue management. Identifying risks, categorising and identifying suitable mitigation options.
• Feed into overall schedule creation from a production perspective and update PMO accordingly if schedule is likely to slip
Vendor & Supplier Management
• Engage and manage vendors against a range of KPIs , ensuring that project deliverables are on time, to budget and according to specification.
• Responsible for working with test vendors and conducting QA ests at each phased delivery (cross-browser testing, cross-device testing)
Asset Management
• Organise and manage audio recording and video shoots ensuring all rights are maintained to deliver assets of a high quality
• Manage reviews, updates and edits to assets inline with client expectations
• Maintain the asset repository for all projects and ensure that assets are managed according to Pearson’s defined process. Knowledge of asset repositories, optimization of assets and version control would be an advantage.
Processes and Procedures
• Ensure best practice and process is followed and maintained, such as QA testing practices and user centred design in the creation of digital solutions. Be proactive in identifying where updates to existing or new processes and workflows are required. Discuss with line manager and assist with updates to process and workflow documentation if required. Keep abreast of and monitor Pearson’s products, delivery platforms and technology developments, understanding any implications for the HE market and our options to deliver.
• Assist Digital Production Manager with review and improvement of internal processes, ensuring lessons from projects are fed back in to improve current processes

Qualifications
Education, qualification and training
● Graduate calibre
● Excellent written and spoken English
● Formal project management training or accreditation in a PM methodology desirable
Previous experience
• Experience of working with digital workflows and technologies in a Higher Education environment
• Knowledge and experience working with web technologies, mobile platforms and apps in a variety of digital platforms
• Previous experience of project managing projects with onshore and offshore suppliers & vendors
• Knowledge and understanding of digital learning and online education in the UK higher education market is desirable
• Knowledge of video and audio production processes
• Experience of managing multiple digital projects to tight timeframes
• Understanding of the Web, HTML, CSS, Javascript
• Experience working with creative packages such as PhotoShop, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience in managing vendors: negotiating, executing contracts, creating briefs and purchase orders
