Spectrum Enterprise is seeking a Senior Public Relations Manager to develop and manage the organization’s enterprise public relations strategy. As one of the dominant players in the telco industry, we’re seeking a seasoned and creative communications master who has a passion for creating unique and compelling media strategies that result in targeted and favorable media coverage beyond the headlines. Working within the Spectrum Enterprise Marketing Organization, the Senior Public Relations Manager will collaborate with senior Executives, technical experts and thought leaders on key announcements, events and media opportunities and rely on their excellent oral and written communication skills to represent and evolve its external presence in a positive manner.
Responsibilities
• Develop media relations strategy, including plan, goals, budget and tactics, seeking original storylines and quality placements in print, broadcast and online media
• Identify key journalists, bloggers, influencers and media outlets
• Collaborate with PR agencies and social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media
• Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
• Collaborate with Corporate Media Relations to manage media inquiries and interview requests
• Strategize and create content for press releases, byline articles and blogs (as needed in lieu of press release) and or type of press event (in person, online, event)
• Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a consistent basis
• Evaluate opportunities for partnerships on an on-going basis.
• Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness
• Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
Requirements
• 8-10 years proven working experience in public relations required (either agency or client side) preferably within high tech environment
• Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national level
• Experience acting as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews.
• Comfortable presenting to and collaborating with senior executives
• Exceptional writing and editing skills and familiarity with IT terms
• Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
• BA/MA degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related discipline
