The Marketing Assistant for Palgrave Higher Education is an exciting new position where you will have the opportunity to raise awareness of our textbooks among academics in the U.S. and Canada. Based in New York, you will support the Sales & Marketing Manager for North America with the execution of fully integrated marketing campaigns for the purpose of customer acquisition and lead generation.
Responsibilities will involve the logistics of implementing promotional activities, including:
• The set-up and maintenance of email engagement programs using Marketo
• Updating marketing content on our website
• Creating and coordinating design assets and content for use online and in print (flyers, postcards, etc..).
• Conference and event marketing
• Direct Mail
• Social media and paid advertising
The Marketing Assistant will also be expected to respond directly to inquiries from academics as needed and to serve as a point of contact for London-based marketing and editorial colleagues. There will be some domestic and international travel involved to attend a twice-yearly sales conference and occasional academic conferences.
Essential skills/experience:
• Creative and analytical thinker

• Takes initiative to support new projects/tasks and learn new skills
• Effective communication skills
• Copywriting and editing experience
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects and deadlines
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Comfortable learning new technologies and systems
• Basic HTML knowledge
• Commercial awareness
• Undergraduate degree
Desirable:
• Familiarity with Marketo
• Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or Acrobat
• Prior experience in digital marketing, publishing, or advertising a plus
• Design savvy
• Interest in higher education publishing
