About our Team:
Our Marketing team is responsible for growth, retention and brand marketing across Ellation brands. We have grown the successful Crunchyroll service to over 750,000 paying subscribers and over 20 million registered users internationally, and now we aim to replicate that success with our newly launched platform: VRV.
Our mission is to deliver premium video experiences to passionate fans. We strive to meet this mission in all marketing campaigns, and partner closely with creative, content, audience development, product, and analytics teams to do so. We deploy a $XX million budget against a wide array of paid marketing channels to drive conversion, brand awareness and new audience; and we manage lifecycle communication designed to engage, retain and upsell our existing users.
About the Role:
You will own strategy across all of our paid social channels including: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Reddit and new experimental channels. You will balance at-scale strategy for our Crunchyroll business with foundational and experimental strategy for VRV in its startup phase. You will drive subscriber acquisition as well as brand awareness goals and be tightly integrated with our other paid and lifecycle marketing efforts.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will...
• Own the strategy and execution for all paid social marketing across a variety of channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Reddit, etc...), with potential to own additional channels (influencer marketing, affiliate marketing, etc…).
• Deploy and optimize a significant budget and remain results driven to help us determine how and where that budget should be allocated.
• Own the decision around third party bid management tools; determine where it is resourceful to use partners vs manage in-house
• Focus on top-of funnel as well as downstream engagement and conversion efforts and managing a variety of campaign types: subscriber acquisition, brand awareness, content marketing, and mobile app install
• Partner closely with our analytics team to measure marketing effectiveness, find ways to become more efficient and drive recommended actions
• Partner closely with Product and Data teams to find ways to improve marketing performance through measurement, product, landing page optimization, etc…
• Work closely with other marketing managers to share learnings and apply within your channels
• Drive vision of the broader Paid Marketing team as we scale
We’re excited about you because...
• You have a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Marketing/Business
• You have 4+ years of experience in digital performance marketing, with at least 2+ owning paid social channels
• You have an understanding of and experience working with:
◦ Third party tools for ad management (Nanigans, Kenshoo, Marin)
◦ Native tools (Facebook power editor)
◦ Intelligence, attribution, data tools (Google Analytics, Amplitude, etc...)
• You have a strong analytical mind, with the ability to digest quantitative metrics and translate into meaningful outcomes and strategic recommendations
• You have a strong creative mind, with the ability to leverage new video/image/copy assets while delivering input on how we should expand and optimize our creative, partnering closely with our creative design team
• You can clearly and effectively articulate thoughts and strong presentation skills in group settings and with Senior Management
• You are excited by complex problems, results-driven, and detail-oriented, with a high quality bar and attention to detail
• You have the ability to think globally with an interest in international marketing
• You are excited by a startup environment and passionate about entertainment and/or the online video space
• You are kind, team-oriented, highly self-motivated, and have a stellar work ethic. You have the ability to drive strategy independently and are looking for the right company to support your growth
