Responsibilities
Position Overview
The Information Technology division is led by Michael Bradshaw who serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for NBCUniversal. He is responsible for leading and overseeing global technology strategy and applications, corporate systems, infrastructure and operations for the company’s worldwide media portfolio. The IT portfolio includes technology for Broadcast and Cable TV, Universal Pictures, News, Parks and Resorts, Sports and Olympics, Digital, Media Labs, and Sales, Research and Analytics, and NBCUniversal’s International group.
The division is comprised of a team of technologists who are responsible for partnering with the lines of business to drive their individual technology strategies, as well as maintaining a solid core technical foundation, enabling the company to manage financial & HR systems, email, network, data and technical service centers, etc.
The VP of Business Partnership will lead a team of ET Business partnership leads (BPL) that will serve as the business liaisons and trusted advisors between NBCU Business technology units (BTG) and Enterprise technologies (ET). The ET BLPs will serve as the primary point of contact for BTG leadership and will represent ET services and capabilities that best meet the needs of the BTG.
This position requires strong business acumen, ability to establish and maintain key relationships within IT and the business, ability to influence, strong facilitation skills, and with an “account management” mindset.
The VP of business partnership will manage a team of BPLs whose role blurs the line between the BTG and ET, creating a seamless ability for the BTG to leverage the services and expertise of the ET organization to obtain the solutions necessary to ensure success.
ET Business Partner key responsibilities:
• Owns the ET and BTG engagement model, vision, and roadmap
• Builds, leads and motivates BPL team to ‘High Performer’ standards
• Inspires BPL team to meet stretch targets and through personal development and management, grows team members capabilities and manages out underperformance
• Provide leadership and guidance to the BPL team
• Manages BPL team to lead BTG and ET teams to define solutions to meet stated business requirements
• Retains oversight of projects to ensure delivery against business expectations
• Helps set BPL assignments and rotations to specific BTGs
• Acts as an escalation point for all BPL related matters
• Maintains extensive collaboration and communication between ET and BTGs to ensure the on-going alignment of BTG priorities, expectations, resource availability and service delivery
• Enables BTGs to better understand the scope of ET offerings and the related business value and efficiencies they provide
• Conduct regular service reviews, both internally and externally, and initiate improvements within an overall Service Improvement Plan
• Partner with ET service owners and BTG leads to address service delivery inefficiencies
• Takes ownership for stakeholder management with BTGs on behalf of ET
• Actively solicits feedback, reviews overall engagement performance and looks to drive continue improvement
Qualifications/Requirements
Required Qualifications
• B.S. degree in Computer Science/Electronics/Engineering or related field strongly preferred
• 10+ years in related field, with at least 3 years in a senior management role
• Extensive business relationship management experience, especially in the formulation of strategy and roadmaps, as well as associated standards, policies and frameworks
• Minimum 5 years’ experience leading complex project builds with proven performance to achieve on-time completion of projects.
• Solid documentation experience with Visio, Word, Excel, MS Project or related application
• Expertise working on a team with motivated cross-functional individuals focused on a common goal of delivering cutting edge solutions to meet aggressive business demands in an ever changing environment to achieve on-time and on budget completion of projects.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to effectively present ideas and communicate with senior leadership
• Ambitious and goal oriented, with initiative to work until job is complete
