Responsibilities
• Operate uplink systems, ability to configure encoding equipment, operate antenna controllers, able to peak antennas and access satellites.
• Able to configure satellite downlink equipment, knowledge of encryption and signal encoding to be able to decipher what equipment is needed to acquire the satellite/fiber signal.
• Coordinate receipt and processing of all inbound feeds via: Satellite, Fiber, LiveU, Dejero etc.
• Transfer and quality control of all feeds coming into the facility, closed captioning for all live shows, bringing any issues to the attention of the appropriate departments and management.
• Submission of a daily shift report detailing all on-air activities, listing all the successful feeds completed in our tracking system, documenting any errors and/or discrepancies encountered during ones shift.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Field and/or Computer Sciences, Technical school courses or equivalent work experience.
• 2 - 5+ years of television production and engineering experience.
• Familiar with Windows, Apple, Avid, AVID iNews, AVID iNews Command and other production/broadcast environment related platforms and applications.
Eligibility Requirements
• Ability to multitask, react quickly, solve problems and obtain results under pressures of daily television production and broadcasts.
• Ability to interact with a variety of individuals including management, employees, and outside vendors/consultants.
• Familiar with AVID Interplay systems in general.
• Must be willing to work in Hialeah.
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice.
• Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
• Must be available to work all shifts, including early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, late breaking news and hurricane emergencies.
• Ability to work regular hours.
• Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
