The Senior Marketing Manager for Teaching & Learning solutions is a key role on Blackboard’s North American Higher Education (NAHE) Field Marketing team. This person is responsible for driving demand for Blackboard’s industry-leading learning management products Learn and Moodlerooms, as well as its innovative virtual classroom software Collaborate. This role will develop marketing plans to increase pipeline and penetration for these SaaS-based products within institutions of higher learning. Working closely with the field sales team, this position will develop and drive high-touch field marketing programs to generate quality pipeline and to move prospects through the sales cycle.
The Senior Marketing Manager will proactively drive field marketing programs from planning through execution to tracking results, understand field needs, ensure alignment with segment marketing objectives, define programs and success measurement, and deliver programs across the US, Canada and in-region.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
• Develop integrated demand generation programs that take prospects through a sequential journey
• Execute campaigns by leading cross-departmental teams — including account-based marketing, web, e-mail, telemarketing, webinar, PR, events, etc.
• Define marketing segments that align with sales teams’ goals to deliver relevant, focused messages and programs
• Guide the creation of marketing content (white papers, video, etc.) that is tailored to buyer personas
• Accountability for program results, involving measurement of program success and reporting
• Maintain program budget and spend efficiently and wisely
• This position is based in Washington, DC. Telework arrangement may be considered for highly qualified candidates outside of the greater DC metro area.
Required Qualifications
• At least 5 years’ experience marketing B2B software to large organizations
• Experience with developing integrated, multi-touch marketing plans
• Demonstrated ability in driving demand for B2B software, leveraging a wide variety of techniques, including content marketing, drip campaigns, digital/web, telemarketing, etc.
• Outstanding writing, presentation and organizational skills
• Proven track record of partnering successfully with sales management
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated, collaborative, multi-tasker
Desired Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business strongly preferred
• Industry or vertical marketing experience in education a plus
