Responsibilities
ROLE SUMMARY:
The primary purpose for the VP, Ad Sales, is to oversee the Advertising Sales function for selected brands in the Lifestyle Ad Sales Portfolio Group.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Client Relationships
A single point of contact for clients/customers in the area
Own the annual sales target in the region for assigned brands
Develop integrated packages and programs
Represent the entire NBCU Lifestyle Portfolio in some key relationships and deals
Negotiation
Negotiate complex deals at top management level that affect major aspects of advertising sales division performance in the region; pursue and close challenging and strategic accounts
Develop and execute sales strategy across all platforms to maximize revenue
Make Deal decisions for assigned brands
Leadership
Work closely with Account Executives and Sales Planning to oversee team of Sales Planners and Sales Assistants
Evaluate the performance of advertising sales programs against desired outcomes
Perform periodic performance reviews to determine employee eligibility for, among other things, merit increases, bonuses and promotional and transfer opportunities
Communication
Internally, serve as Brand Leader on assigned brand(s) and develop tools and messaging to all internal parties
Represent NBCU in Ad Sales business community and manage relationships with various constituents
Communicate and collaborate internally with other departments including Pricing & Planning, Marketing, Research, Marketing and Client Partnerships.
Qualifications/Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required
10 + years extensive Sales/Sales management experience required
5+ years of VP level sales management with Cable multi-platform sales experience
Established network of contacts and relationships within the ad sales business
Community
Prior management/team leadership experience

Desired Characteristics
Masters’ degree preferred

Demonstrates a proactive approach and takes initiative to be innovative
Experience in successfully communicating at all levels both verbally and in writing
