Responsibilities
Role Purpose
The Brand Marketing & Promotions Manager will support a highly motivated marketing team in concepting, developing and executing promotional marketing campaigns for all of Syfy’s original series and brand initiatives, including strategic partnerships, experiential marketing programs, events and branded merchandise. The Manager role will also play a key role in monitoring cultural trends on both a macro and micro level, to inform our marketing and promotional strategies. The ideal candidate will have a creative sensibility, be a self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Senior Director, Brand Marketing & Promotions.
Qualifications/Requirements
Essential Responsibilities
• Work as part of the marketing team to develop buzzworthy, strategic and targeted promotional campaigns to support original programming and brand initiatives for Syfy
• Assist in the planning and execution of assigned projects, which could include screening events, multi-market stunts, promotional partnerships, branded merchandise all with flawless attention to detail
• Serve as point person within the department on cultural insights, researching, monitoring and proactively share emerging trends across multiple industries to be applied to both brand and show campaigns
• Work collaboratively with various internal departments (production/legal/creative/publicity/social media) in executing all aspects of campaigns
• Coordinate logistics for assigned projects by overseeing timelines, element charts and obtaining creative assets
• Assist in the development of creative briefs, presentation decks and campaign recap decks to be shared with internal and external partners
• Continuously ideate, identify and share creative marketing ideas
• Manage promotions budget including tracking spending, processing invoices & maintaining accruals
• Manage Syfy promotions page by hiring, training and delegating workflow
• Coordinate logistics for meetings and presentations
Critical Skills
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and assignments concurrently
• Ability to keep pace in a quickly moving department is required
• Sophisticated knowledge of PowerPoint and excel
• Ability to work autonomously and be proactive; driving projects forward independently
• Extraordinary attention to detail
• Strong work ethic, with a dedication to excellence
• Confident, driven, self-starter, who is comfortable working autonomously
• Passion for entertainment and pop culture
Desired Characteristics
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum 3 years of TV/entertainment marketing and/or event planning experience.
