We have a multiple openings for experienced, innovative, strategic Associate Academic Designer (Editorial) – Social Studies (Project Status Worker)in our Columbus, OH office.

Reporting to the Lead Academic Designer, the Associate Academic Designer (Editorial) – Social Studies (Project Status Worker)will plan and develop digital and print instructional materials for high school Social Studies programs.
This is a project status position.
Critical functions:
• Plan and develop instructional materials for digital and print social studies products for grades 9-12, including but not limited to textbooks, interactive activities, worksheets, assessments, and teacher lesson plans.
• Prepare manuscript, ensuring accuracy, readability, and grade-appropriateness in accordance with project specifications.
• Correlate educational materials to national and state social studies curriculum standards.
• Complete photo and art requisition forms.
• Work in a Content Management System to assemble and produce educational content.
• Work on digital products with tasks such as digital editing and metadata writing and tagging.
• Edit, track, and review manuscript and digital products through development cycle.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of outside freelancers or vendors.
• Must be detail oriented and able to edit a variety of materials both online and in print in a timely manner.
• Communicate with fellow team members about project progress, and develop solutions to address issues.
• Work as a team player to meet all intermediate and final schedules.
A successful candidate will have:
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a social science discipline or history.
• Excellent communication skills which include a thorough command of the English language, spelling, writing, and grammar.
• Must be organized, detail- and deadline-oriented and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced rapidly changing work environment.
A successful candidate may have:
• Classroom teaching experience, preferably high school social studies.
• A minimum of 12 months of editorial or publishing experience.
• Master’s degree in a social science discipline or secondary education.
• Experience writing and editing teacher instructional and student assessment materials.
• Experience working with digital curriculum development, digital authoring tools, and content management systems.
• Proficiency in Adobe InCopy.
