The Manager, Payroll is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the payroll function within the Employee Services department, and is responsible for processing human resource, employee and payroll data into AEG’s electronic data processing systems.
Job Duties:
• Establishes and maintains workflows and procedures for function and ensures staff compliance.
• Ensures staff processes human resource/payroll information accurately and timely, and oversees work assignments and resources.
• Builds and maintains a strong functional team through recruiting, training, coaching, team building, and staff development.
• Ensures that policies and practices comply with federal, state, or local laws and regulations, and provides for consistent implementation and enforcement.
• Ensures the confidentiality and integrity of HR/Payroll data
• Oversees the preparation of human resource/payroll audit/exception reports. Prepares periodic or special reports relevant to human resource/payroll function.
• Manages the development, testing, and implementation of new or modified systems changes to meet shifting requirements; keeps current on human resource/payroll legislation and technologies regarding impacts to processing data. Recommends new equipment or software to support Employee Services’ objectives.
• Assists with special projects as required.
Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum education level of: Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year)
• Years of related work experience: 5 years related experience in a supervisory or managerial role in payroll
• Comprehensive knowledge of and experience working with ADP and ABI systems required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of human resources and payroll practices and procedures required.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users.
• Strong competency in using reporting tools (i.e., Report Smith)
• Experience evaluating, analyzing, and resolving unique and complex problems, and recommending solution
