About the team
The person who obtains this role will work in the Autodesk Simulation Experience Design (XD) team which is a global group of UX/XD designers working on a number of the world’s leading simulation software products. Some of these products are well established market leaders and others are fresh and new. One of the main focal points for the role in Melbourne is Autodesk Moldflow – the industry leading simulation package for the plastic injection molding industry. Sound a bit out of left field? Well, if you enjoy dealing with customers from the world’s leading automotive, appliance and consumer electronics companies, this could be exactly the role you are looking for!

The XD team members may need to attend key international customer events throughout the year in order to gather user data and conduct other research activities, so, yes there could be travel involved!
• Lead the design discussions that result from the research. Design at Autodesk is a collaborative process and we need amazing communicators who can help the development teams understand the customers’ story and lead the team in the process of coming up with a great design that will make our customers’ day! This design work will include the creation of personas and scenarios to help tell the customers’ story, workflow and UI design, and validation testing.
• Work with the Product Management team to prioritise and drive the XD designs through the product development process
• Work with the local Software Engineering, QA, Documentation and Localisation teams to ensure that the XD changes are understood by the team and implemented as specified.
