This individual is responsible for developing, managing, and executing all aspects of the marketing programs focusing on creating awareness, demand, and engagement related to Blackboard’s products and services for both existing clients and prospects across Southern and Eastern Europe (SE Europe).
The ideal candidate is a passionate, customer-centric marketer with the ability to create compelling messages for different target audiences. S/he will employ marketing best practices, regional scalability and develop further innovative ideas to drive Blackboard’s demand in the region. To create the demand, the candidate will leverage Blackboard’s channel partners in the region, marketing programs directly developed and launched through Blackboard’s international marketing team, and through participation in global campaigns.
The SE Europe Marketing Manager works closely with regional sales teams and the other members of the central marketing team to develop, align, and execute on go-to-market activities, pipeline contribution, and tracking the results of the marketing campaigns.
A key part of their responsibilities will be managing the marketing relationship with a group of channel partners (resellers) and ensuring that these partners are fully equipped with the knowledge and resources to excecute cross-channel, country-specific marketing programs. The SE Europe Marketing Manager reports to the EMEA Marketing Director.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Manage the SE Europe annual marketing plan, working with the EMEA Marketing Director, sales teams and channel partners.
• Supporting Channel Partners in development of their own marketing plans.
• Work closely with country managers so ensure both in-house and reseller marketing resources and activities are prioritized to support new business and retention targets.
• Create and organise marketing content for programs, leadership pieces from initial copy development to asset and campaign production, for strategic campaigns in the region. These are executed both directly and through the channel partners.
• Develop, manage, and execute all aspects of the marketing programs focusing on creating demand and retention for Blackboard’s products and services from both existing clients and prospect and develop further innovative ideas to drive Blackboard’s business in the region. Ensure these programs are also delivered via the channel partners via Channel Marketing programs and use of Channel Marketing Funds.
• Manage lead nurturing, automated life-cycle messaging, event-triggered, and prospect-facing email campaigns.
• Plan and execute a series of cross-format events from industry leadership forums to series of webinars and deliver measurable ROI.
• Build and maintain a close collaboration with channel partners and the sales organization, including coordination of the development of regional specific marketing programs, follow-up activities, pipeline contribution, result tracking, and team communication.
• Become fluent in the marketplace dynamics, client segment needs, roles, and personas and develop and help execute scalable marketing activities based on this client-centric and segmented approach.
• Managing case study and messaging development.
• Generate reports and analysis to support marketing key performance indicators such as lead generation, lead follow-up, and lead conversion.
Skills and Experience:
• Proven track record of driving successful positioning and content strategy for marketing programs across multiple markets.
• B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent in marketing, communication, or business
• At least six years of marketing experience working in B2B industry, tech vendor or educational technology arena. Education industry experience desirable, but not essential.
• Strong planning and project management skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects, prioritize, be detail-oriented, and meet deadlines.
• Proactive communicator and track record of strong teamwork and collaboration with all levels of an organisation.
• Experience of managing and operating field events, customer conferences and exhibitions.
• Previous experience with HTML email, marketing automation platforms (e.g. Eloqua) managing online programs and campaigns.
• Excellent writing, proof-reading, copy-writing, and editing skills.
• Fluency in spoken and written English required, fluency in additional languages is a plus [Spanish, French, Italian, German].
• Regular international travel required.
