The IndyStar is looking for an investigative reporter!
This reporter works with a core team of three other investigative reporters on long-term, mid-term and quick-turn investigative projects/stories. This team has been responsible for such efforts as IndyStar’s award-winning investigative project that exposed the failing of USA Gymnastics to protect children from sexually abusive coaches.
Our ideal candidate has a proven track record of producing high-impact watchdog/investigative journalism and has at least five years of related experience. Expertise in public safety watchdog reporting is a plus.
Typical job duties/requirements:

◦ Consistently gain/build trust with sources
◦ Consistently write with clarity and impact
◦ Create databases
◦ Work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment
◦ Think critically and creatively to solve problems
◦ Audio-visual and data processing skills are a plus
