Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced marketing professional to join a vibrant team within a growing university. This is a critical role within the External Relations Department and the the Product Marketing Manager leads all external advertising for Pearson College London and its two academic schools - Pearson Business School and Escape Studios.
You will lead the Product Team (consisting of two Marketing Executives and two Marketing Assistants) to create advertising campaigns that drive lead generation for our undergraduate, postgraduate and short course products. You will oversee external agencies and work closely with the Sales and Student Recruitment teams to engage with potential students and build the sales/recruitment pipelines.
You should have a knowledge of the Higher Education sector and be customer-focused. This is a fast-paced role and you must be able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise a busy workload and use data to inform your decisions. You will have autonomy over your own projects and will be able to influence the overarching marketing strategy. You will be part of a driven, hard-working team in a supportive and agile organisation, with opportunities for professional development and growth.
Accountabilities:
1. Lead all external advertising for Pearson Business School and Escape Studios, including developing innovative campaign strategies, managing media agencies and delivering campaign reports.
2. Manage a team of four staff and create a supportive and efficient team environment.
3. Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our degrees/courses in the market.
4. Plan the launch of new products and manage the cross-college implementation of marketing plans.
5. Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs - who our customers are, how attract them and how to grow our market share.
6. Lead email marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness, event bookings (Open Days) and applications/sales.
7. Provide materials (brochures, exhibition stands, promotional materials) to support the Sales and Student Recruitment teams.
Qualifications
Essential skills:
1. Educated to degree level
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Higher Education marketing or campaign management role.
3. Strong project management, problem-solving and analytical skills.
4. Experience of digital marketing and managing campaign budgets. Ideally with experience of working with external media/advertising agencies.
5. Strong proven written skills. Must be able to demonstrate an ability to create engaging content/campaigns.
6. Excellent people skills and proven ability to work with staff at a range of levels
7. Line-management experience
Desirable skills
1. Professional marketing qualification (e.g CIM)
2. Knowledge of university application processes and procedures, including UCAS
3. Experience of using CRM systems (e.g Salesforce)
4. Experience of using email platforms (e.g Mailchimp)
