Responsibilities
• Supports daily video operations for E! digital properties
• Contributes to the development of new products, enhancements to existing products for E! Online
• Looks at code (HTML, XML, CSS, JS) and understands how it works. No actual engineering is required, but a vivacious interest in web development and development tools is necessary.
• Stays up-to-date on the newest web technologies and can optimize workflows based on industry developments (specifically in video encoding and CDNs)
• Takes full ownership of projects and handles them from inception to completion
• Handles long-term SAAS vendors; communicates with vendors on the phone up to 4 times a day and manages an ongoing relationship
• Effectively balances vendor priorities against internal priorities using stringent organization skills
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, and with video encoding and CDN experience
• Project Management experience
Desired Characteristics
• Solid understanding of web development, mobile product development, a strong proclivity for technology, digital video distribution and new media
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and develop various products at different stages
• Major self-starter – should be able to devour documentation about our video CMS and reach expert-level; unafraid to dive into the technological weeds
• Excellent written and communication skills, and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail
• Knowledge of content management systems, and willingness to learn about technological issues that arise in the Digital space
• Strong documentation skills and experience building workflow diagrams are big pluses. We would love to see examples of workflow diagrams if possible.
• Solution-oriented with the ability to innovate
• Broad knowledge of entertainment
• Works well in a team, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment
