Purpose
The Director of Studio Operations will provide management of personnel, facilities, equipment, operations, finances and technology for a customer driven production operations group. Coordinate all technical and logistical requirements for Studio operations and ensure that all technical aspects of the productions go as planned. Also, partner with remote operations to ensure when the Studio shows travel, that all the logistics are coordinated. This position will report directly to the VP of Studio Operations.
Responsibilities
Manage all day to day technical operations in a 24/7 live and taped sports production environment
Must respond to all operational and studio technical issues with urgency
Must be an effective trouble shooter, communicator and problem solver
Successful candidate will function as the onsite supervisor of all studio technical management
Work closely with show Directors, Producers and CPs to assess production needs and with studio engineering and broadcast operations areas
Maintain departmental budgets
Ensure compliance with all applicable company policies.
Efficient utilization of company resources within a fast paced rapidly changing environment
Work well under pressure, including tight deadlines.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
BA/BS in a related field
Minimum six (6) years working experience in a studio production environment
Minimum four (4) years technical management experience
Thorough knowledge of studio control rooms and related equipment and technology, as well as the ability to operate successfully within a highly technical organization
Must have strong client relationships and team building skills
Must be able to work in a fast paced, changing, team oriented environment and possess a “hands on” management style
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Must have proficient computer skills, including Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Power Point.
Must be flexible and able to work different schedules/hours including weekend and overnights. May need to be available 24/7 for critical issues.
