OVERVIEW:
Strategize and manage the implementation and development of all WE tv digital platforms – including, but not limited to, wetv.com, WE tv Full Episodes, WE tv mobile app. Develop innovative solutions for content offerings across emerging technology, including mobile, broadband, VOD and multi-platform applications.
Take the lead on large department projects such as new site development, interactive products, apps and partnership implementation. Collaborate with other departments to ensure plans are in-line with overall WE tv goals and objectives.
Must work well under pressure, tight budgets, deadlines and direction changes.
In-depth knowledge of project management, budgeting, digital development and production, and search engine optimization.
RESPONSIBILITES:
• Create the strategy and roadmap for the ongoing and future development of WE tv’s sites, apps and other alternative platforms.
• Work with VP, Digital and Emerging Media to define the future strategic course of the network’s digital ventures, continually develop a plan to achieve that vision, and partner in directing implementation.
• Research, recommend and execute new technology to keep WE tv’s digital platforms on the cutting edge.
• Stay on top of functionality issues and development needs working with AMCN Product Development team to effectively resolve or create solutions.
• Oversee WE tv’s Electronic Sell Through strategy – optimizing promotions, creating sampling opportunities and driving revenue.
• Oversee the execution of multi-platform applications.
• Develop internal process and oversee implementation.
• Direct and manage projects, including features tied to on-air series and other stand-alone digital initiatives.
• Oversee departmental and project budgets.
• Work with AMCN legal team to create needed contracts and resolve legal issues.
• Ensure timely delivery of contracts and work with finance for timely delivery of payments.
• Enroll show producers and co-workers to brainstorm and create new and exciting multi-platform concepts that help elevate our programming and brand to a full immersive interactive experience.
• Develop and manage newsletter technology strategy.
• Work to continually better registration and subscribe/unsubscribe process.
• Be an innovator – stay up to date on industry changes and technologies, suggest ideas and content that could be used to generate revenue, propose efficiencies in workflow or process.
• Supervise the execution of any technology related sponsor projects to client’s specifications.
• Attend marketing, programming, and digital project status and creative meetings.
• Oversee the creation of presentations for various update meetings for senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Management Skills
• 10+ years experience in interactive project management and strategy; 5+ years management experience; 3+ years of strong success building digital, cross-platform experiences.
• Strong people management skills.
• Superior project planning skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively to technical, design, and production staff, senior management, and peers within the company.
Technical/Functional Competencies
• Excellent project and budget management skills.
• Comfortable with public speaking and presentation to senior management- level audiences.
• Ability to think strategically and create tactics to support the strategies.
• Extensive knowledge of multi-platform quality assurance, consumer-facing digital experiences, information architecture and user interface design.
• Deep knowledge of various content management systems – Moveable Type, Word Press, Drupal.
• Experience in a team environment and collaboration with technical peers, creative designers, and project managers.
Key Experiences/Achievements
• Experience in fast-paced environment; start-up company or new division start-up experience preferred.
• 5-8 years experience in directing web design and development.
• Proven background in project management and digital development.
• Experience with development of websites, email, database, and mobile apps. Online advertising knowledge a plus, but not necessary.
• Experience in alternative platform TV content distribution.
• Ability to work under tight budgets, changing deadlines and multiple project timelines.
