A Lot About You
The ideal candidate has a proven track record in online and/or traditional media sales support and/or a strong desire to win. We're looking for an energetic self-starter, strong multi-tasker with the ability to handle varied voluminous tasks to build Yahoo’s account base. Candidates should be pro-active in supporting our efforts to increase Yahoo!'s client base by contacting potential clients through various sources.
Your Day
• Engage and partner with senior level sales executives to understand strategic needs, and demonstrate how Yahoo! can meet their marketing and business objectives through cross-network online marketing solutions, such as integrated sponsorships and performance-driven media
• Understand and effectively communicate Yahoo’s value proposition, technology, processes, and partnerships as they related to the growth of current and prospective client accounts
• Cultivate and develop new business relationships and serve as a trusted online media business consultant to senior marketing decision makers
• Develop strategic plan to achieve target revenue goals; effectively manage an individual quarterly sales goal
• Drive the RFP process; execute and deliver high quality solutions
• Develop custom client solutions utilizing Yahoo’s entire suite of products, including Display, Video, Social, Native, Performance and Programmatic
• Update and create sales proposals and decks
• Pitch new business to potential advertising clients and consistently educate clients of Yahoo! offerings
• Follows up on self-generated and company provided leads selling a suite of various Yahoo! products via outbound sales efforts
• Handles inbound sales inquiries effectively identifying each prospect’s needs and offer quality solutions
• Identify and understand trends within client markets and industries
• Understand category-specific landscapes and trends, reporting these to the organization; report on the macro and micro forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
• Assist in the management of client campaigns to ensure performance and delivery against client objectives
• Navigate internally with various business units to create compelling media solutions for advertisers
You Must Have
• BA/BS degree in business or related field
• At least 3 years of sales experience
• Solid knowledge of principles and practices in digital media industry and broadly applies knowledge to initiatives aimed at meeting client needs
• Proven sales skills with a successful record of attaining or exceeding quotas
• Track record of success supporting revenue growth through the development of long-term strategic relationships and ability to handle volume, multi-task, and tackle varied tasks
• Understanding of how to use insights to support sales campaigns and recommendations
• Solid knowledge of and ability to articulate the clients' and competitors’ businesses, and how they are impacted by market trends
• Ability to provide full-service sales approach to both existing and prospective clients in order to offer customized solutions
• Understanding of online advertising sales, media buying, brand management, promotions and sponsorships as well as large ad agency and holding company infrastructure
• Outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills
• Proficiency in Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and understanding of CRM systems
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities using effective organizational and time-management skills
• Willingness to travel 10-20%
