We are seeking for a new position for Springer-Verlag GmbH Heidelberg
Editorial Assistant (m/f)for thedepartment Neurosciences/Pharmaceutical Sciences/Protocols
Main duties:
• Day to day management and contribution to the development of monographs, textbooks, series and journals including monitoring of schedules
• Ability to work to a large degree autonomously on product management and, under guidance/tutorial of the responsible Editors, assist in the acquisition activities in neurosciences
• Acting liaison with internal units (i. e. Marketing, Production, Finance, IT)
• Maintain excellent internal and external working relationships, including but not limited to authors, editors-in-chief, as well as members of series and journal editorial boards
• Responsible for all correspondence, files, preparation of contracts, statistics and reports
Requirements:
• General knowledge of publishing
• Fluent in written and spoken English with excellent organizational and communicational skills
• First experience in book and journal publishing comparable in scope as outlined above. Preference given to those with a background or past working experience in a field of life sciences
• Able to work creatively and proactively
• Performance oriented with interest in potential advancement and willing to work in a global team environment
• Excellent skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Terms:
part-time (20 hours a week)
