We are responsible for delivering capabilities that support our new subscriptions business models. We ideate, plan, build and run the foundation for Autodesk’s $2.5B+ business and must be able to scale with Autodesk’s growth to $5B and beyond.
We are not a traditional IT organization, we build engineering platforms that integrate with our customer-facing products and serve our partner eco system. We focus on cloud and integration technologies, methods and architectures. In addition, we are transforming our culture and embracing an engineering focus with key engineering practices such as product quality, CI/CD, disciplined agile delivery, and technical debt management.
Autodesk is seeking an Engineering Director – Enterprise Business Capabilities to join the Enterprise Applications & Engineering Platforms team and be part of the larger Enterprise Information Services (IT) team.
The Enterprise Business Capabilities (EBC) teams provide our customers with the ability to process their orders and get access to their software. Every year, we rollout new consumption business models in the cloud and enhance our subscription offerings. Our finance capabilities grow as the company pivots from channel sales to direct sales. We are reinventing the operations functions that are customer-facing and driving customer experience. We are also applying new capabilities like big data systems combined with an ecosystem of vendor-provided and internally-developed systems capabilities.
Responsibilities:
• Influence at C-staff levels in the organization, innovate and pitch new business models.
• Provide capability and architecture vision and direction to the team.
• Inspire and motivate teams and peers to explore new areas, roles and competitive advantage opportunities.
• Evaluate and prioritize strategic investment opportunities based on business value and alignment to corporate goals.
• Build collaborative relationships with key executives through thought leadership.
• Market our teams and services to the rest of the company.
• Manage teams of architects, analysts, developers and testers responsible for Autodesk’s customer-facing interactions, order management, financial and procurement platforms.
• Work with your teams to help understand requirements, evaluate new capabilities and architecture, design for the customer experience first.
• Drive decisions on trade-offs and deliver high quality applications with minimal technical debt.
• Negotiate strategic contracts with vendors.
• Manage a budget of $10M/annually and a team of 100+ employees and consultants/managed services.
• Build and foster a high performance culture, mentor team members and provide your team with the tools and motivation to make things happen.
Requirements:
• Experience influencing at C-staff levels
• 10-15 years managing global agile engineering teams; full time, contract and outsourced staff
• Proven ability to manage and resolve complex and ambiguous technical issues
• Expert experience with Scrum and agile development processes
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field
Direct technical experience with:
• SAP, Oracle, Workday Financials, NetSuite or SFDC Financial force
• Deploying applications on SAAS
• Building Web Services and RESTful API’s
• Application monitoring tools, log analytical tools, security tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, Apigee
• Creating highly scalable, fault tolerant applications
