The Senior Product Manager for LIVE Design role combines a deep understanding of target customer needs with an understanding of software development capabilities and available technologies to define a product that is both compelling to our market and achievable by the engineering and experience design organizations.
Product managers review and distill information from a wide variety of internal and external sources to understand market opportunities and formulate product release targets and timelines in conjunction with product stakeholders and agile development teams.
Product managers are responsible for ensuring clear and compelling communication concerning their products to both internal and external audiences, positioning their products within the context of customer aspirations and company strategies and investments.
As the right candidate, you are passionate about efficiently providing customers the tools to innovate and be creative. You’re a great people manager, as you will lead a small team of direct reports. You are fun to work with, and are committed to creating great software, executing the product vision and building a culture of success.
Responsibilities
Market Analysis:
• With the help of customer analytics, you will identify opportunities and define urgent and pervasive product requirements for targeted market segments.
• Develop business hypothesis and cases for LIVE Design that drive our strategy forward, such as partnerships with 3rd-party developers or IP acquisitions.
• Identify customer needs as they pertain to product definition and delivery related to areas of business focus identified by our Business Strategy.
• Coordinate with product support, key accounts, and industry leaders to identify market needs and articulate customer feedback to product teams.
• Identify competitive offerings and assess their strengths and weaknesses.
Planning:
• Coordinate with the Product Line Managers and your peers to distill strategic intent into structured product release roadmaps that are compelling and achievable.
• Contribute to creating and maintaining product, countrification, and applicable content roadmaps.
• Analyze buy, build, and partnering options for delivery of customer value.
• Provide ongoing guidance to Product Owners in the development of agile team development backlogs summarizing customer requirements.
• Work with agile development teams to help set investment priorities.
Communication:
• Tell the story of the LIVE Design ecosystem while differentiating products from competitive offerings.
• Manage expectations with internal stakeholders and customers.
• Inform key product stakeholders including company leadership of current and emerging market trends and representative customer feedback.
• Identify, create, maintain, and leverage key relationships in target industries to enhance product awareness and adoption.
• Connect with key industry thought leaders, including industry specialists, research analysts, press, and other influential parties.
Qualifications:
• Highly motivated, disciplined and self-directed with a commitment to excellence.
• Exceptional planning, facilitation, dependency management, risk management & analysis skills.
• Ability to execute and manage performance and expectations within a cross-functional, matrix management environment.
• Ability to coach, mentor and advocate at multiple levels, including team members, product owners and management.
• Preference for collaborative work within an agile practice as a member of a multi-discipline team.
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in product management. Overall 5+ years of experience in software industry or an adjacent role (for ex: UX, Project Management, QA, or product development).
• Personnel management experience, as the role includes managing direct reports.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills with an ability to state things simply and persuasively for a variety of audiences - internal, external, business and technical.
• Excellent presentation skills and ease in speaking in front of large groups.
• Familiarity with Scrum/Agile/ Lean Startup methodologies. Experience working in a rapid prototyping environment a plus.
• BS Degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Management or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with geographically diverse teams and remote employees a plus.
• Technical fluency; understanding and discussing architectural concepts, schedule tradeoffs, and new opportunities with technical team members.
