Responsibilities
The Universal Brand Development Group is seeking a Vice President of Creative Design and Development. This position will report to the Senior Vice President of Global Creative Design & Development and will contribute to the global creative strategy, and the creation and implementation of all creative materials to support and drive business objectives.
The CD&D team is a world-class, multi-disciplinary creative organization that is central to the NBCU Brand Development Group and is responsible for developing various creative assets, such as style guides, new business development pitches, retail branding guidelines, retail pitches, and retail programs to help the company generate business. The Vice President of CD&D is a key position that leads and directs quality creative development used to extend consumers’ connection to the brand through product (physical and digital) and experiences.
Job Duties
A visionary leader able to drive global creative strategy, communicate priorities and present clear goals for the creative team.
Provide senior creative leadership and partnership with key stakeholders across all divisions within NBCU Brand Development and Universal Pictures.
Track and manage a budget specific to creative asset development and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Oversight and management of internal creative personnel and external creative resources.
Direct commercially viable creative ideas that translate to elevated brand experiences across global markets and multiple categories.
Macro/micro trend development to inform creative programs and business growth.
High level management of creative team dynamics and career development.
Manage performance metrics and assessment for CD&D team members.
Create and maintain a positive team environment and inspire enthusiasm.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree preferred
Minimum 15 years experience in creative design and development
Minimum 10 years in creative leadership with proven track record of identifying and developing creative talent
Ability to deliver thoughtful, clear and concise creative direction
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong leadership, mentorship and conflict resolution skills
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, deadline driven environment that revolves around multiple creative projects
Highly organized and proactive – a self-starter
Flexible and possesses ability to find compromise in challenging situations
Strong presentation skills
Strong relationship-building capabilities and capacity to work in a fast-paced and constantly shifting environment
Ability to travel both domestic and international
Mac proficient and advanced skills in Adobe and Microsoft applications required
