The research and efficacy capacity within Pearson UK is currently supporting the delivery of high quality research as well as efficacy studies aka as impact studies that are aligned to Pearson’s global efficacy and research strategy and that effectively meet the needs of the UK business units. All work is conducted in close partnership with other Pearson centres globally.
Purpose:
The Pearson UK Research and Efficacy team is currently recruiting for a researcher to support with different research projects.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in a range of research projects related to learning services and/or different qualification suites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for graduates in the early stages of their career. The roles report to the Director of Research who is responsible for research and efficacy studies within the Pearson UK organisation.
Key Accountabilities:
• Support the capacity of PUK to implement research and efficacy studies at different stages in the product lifecycle.
• Ensure adherence to data privacy and security guidelines and regulation.
• Lead on the following research activities with support:
◦ the planning of research projects
◦ the design of research methodologies and tools
◦ carrying out and writing up desk research
◦ conducting fieldwork in educational institutions and writing up field notes
◦ Analysing qualitative and quantitative data and presenting findings in appropriate ways
◦ writing up results, formatting and proof reading research reports
◦ preparing presentations related to different research studies
• Attend meetings as necessary and participate in internal and external events as required.
Key Challenges:
• To ensure that research and efficacy studies are carried out to expected timeframes
• To ensure that the processes of research and efficacy studies are as efficient as possible.
• To ensure maintaining best practice in processes related to research and efficacy studies.
• To help build Pearson's reputation as an evidence-based organization.
Qualifications
Experience, Qualifications and Technical Skills
• Undergraduate degree in a field related to education. The ideal candidates would have an understanding of educational research and some educational research experience beyond their degree.
• Strong communication skills especially report writing and presentation skills.
• Strong use of MS Office
