We are seeking a SVP, Project Management Office (PMO) with 10+ years’ experience in project management and 5+ years of managing a team of project & program managers. The SVP, PMO will manage all project managers and be responsible for project governance, definition, implementation and will drive continuous improvement activities through Six Sigma / Lean methodologies on a global basis. This position is based out of Burbank, CA.
Responsibilities
• Manage the project management team and serve as a conduit for communication between project managers distributed across global functional teams and the executives who make the strategic decisions for those projects.
• Implement best practices, tools, project team structure, risk identification, escalation processes and project management decision-making responsibilities.
• Plan and prioritize all projects based on strategic objectives, cost/benefit considerations, timing and capacity.
• Proactively report overall status (progress, issues, dependencies, financial) across all projects to executive team members in standardized fashion
• Assign projects and provide continuous feedback and coaching.
• Facilitate clear communication and manage prioritization across the global organization, including engineering, operations, NOC and business leaders.
• Establish goals and metrics to measure and improve the effectiveness of project management organization and associated processes.
• Document standardized methodologies and processes for implementation and measurement across the organization.
• Must be able to interact and communicate with people at all levels in the organization.
Requirements
• Bachelors in Computer Science, Masters in CS or Business Administration highly desired.
• 10+ years of related experience in a software product organization; ideally one that rose up through a software development organization.
• 5+ years managing a team of project managers.
• Proficiency with a range of appropriate software tools and methodologies including scrum, Kanban, and other agile methodologies. issues and influence decision making at all levels of the organization without formal reporting structure authority.
• Excellent teamwork, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
• Flexibility to work extended hours and/or weekends to meet deadlines. Some travel may be required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing programs with multiple projects/work streams and/or multiple phases. May include implementation of multiple products, organizational transformation, business consolidation, acquisition integration, etc.
• Experience in the media & entertainment industry is highly desired in an ideal candidate; especially related to digital audio, digital video, multimedia, and consumer electronic devices.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification and at least 8 years' of relevant work experience as a Master Black Belt or Black Belt.
