This Project Manager/Scrum Master will manage projects outside of Scrum. This role is hands-on, this role will lead strategically important enterprise wide business application projects and enterprise digital web development. You will be responsible for managing the planning and execution of these projects, using standard methodologies such as Agile.
Responsibilities:
• Manage projects from start to successful delivery, maintaining a focus on the delivery of business value
• Ensure that release deliverables are clearly communicated to all teams and that a user-first mentality is adopted in the delivery of technology
• Develop comprehensive multi-phase project plans including development roadmap, quality control points, and delivery milestones
• Thoroughly document meetings including action items, expected and communicated delivery dates and open items needing further work or follow-up
• Maintain timely communications with internal and external client teams on deliverables, dates and issues
• Work with product owners and business analysts to ensure scope is defined and documented and to maintain the integrity of scope
• Track project budgets and actuals
• Communicate and provide visibility on the progress of projects across a range of stakeholders
• Proactively manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies, ensuring that these are identified, mitigated or escalated as necessary
• Thoroughly grasp intricacies of multi-vendor projects and hold vendors accountable to contractual obligations
• Contribute to building a culture where continuous improvement is a focus, challenging existing ways of working and driving to a nimbler, more iterative delivery process
• Remove impediments that would prevent the team from achieving its sprint and release goals (internal and external to the team)
• Emphasize code quality over quantity
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years project management experience (technology or software experience preferred)
• Working knowledge of project management methodologies and SDLC, including hands on experience with waterfall and agile
• Experience working with agile frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe and Kanban
• Proven leadership ability and evidence of positively influencing cross-functional teams
• Significant experience managing the upgrade, configuration and deployment of mission critical Commercial off the Shelf solutions
• Experience working with Content Management Systems
• Experience managing contracted development teams
• Experience managing vendor relationships
• Technology literate and able to adopt new technologies quickly
• Good verbal and written presentation skills including confidence working with executive leadership and high profile customers
• Ability to train and educate people in agile trends / ways of thinking
• Negotiate conflict resolution when needed between team members or product owners
• Ability to apply creative solutions toward solving problems
• Experience managing budgets
• Experience with MS Project, Confluence and Jira an advantage
• Strong analytical, leadership, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills
• Excellent PC Skills; including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Physical Requirements:
• Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing)
• The person in this position needs to move about inside office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings
