Reflections,a Ubisoft studio is a video games development company based in Newcastle, UK. Collaborating with Ubisoft's international creative teams on projects such as Assassins Creed Syndicate, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, online open-world RPG "The Division" as well as the adventure platformer "Grow Home". With a host of other top titles to our name such as open-world action adventure 'Watch Dogs', MMO racer "The Crew" and the latest instalment in the world's No.1 dance game franchise 'Just Dance 2015' Reflections' objective is to combine technical expertise, flair and innovation to create and contribute to successful and memorable games. Job Purpose
Be responsible for managing internal and external communications. Be a media contact for the studio and work with the internal creative department to design and brand all activity and events.
Responsibilities
• Design, lead and execute Reflections internal communications plan based on strategy and advise on internal communications issues;
• Provide appropriate and creative communications tools and ideas;
• Provide support to senior managers on any critical communication issues and support key leaders in communicating management strategy and engaging people across th studio;
• Partner closely with communication leaders in head office to coordinate the roll-out of key Ubisoft global internal communications initiatives e.g. E3, games releases, charity events, HR surveys;
• Manage communication budget in an efficient and cost-effective manner;
• Proactively promote Reflections within Ubisoft worldwide to share positive actions by Reflections;
• Proactively support the head office corporate communications team when they are looking for case studies to represent Ubisoft in their campaigns;
• Create and execute events within the studio and proactively promote them;
• Ensure all internal communications are clear, well timed, engaging, of a high quality and consistent with the Reflections brand identity;
• Execute the external communications and events plan to ensure Reflections is best represented in any piece/event;
• Maintain an up to date database of media contacts (press, broadcast and digital);
• Learn to identify opportunities for coverage within target media, take advantage of social media opportunities;
• Coordinates information and assets as per journalists’/external parties’ requests using Ubisoft press site and Reflections branded materials;
• Answer all direct email queries to the studio with a friendly and proactive manner;
• Support Marketing Director with copy for websites and other branded material;
• Manage Product social media channels and Studio social media channels e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Google+, Vine, Twitch etc.
• Work with Manager to agree yearly plan and agree monthly stunts and events that can be featured on social media;
• Keeping the Reflections studio profile high on internal Ubisoft intranets (MANA)
• Be aware of all Ubisoft social media activity and all other Ubisoft social media plans;
• Be aware of studio recruitment needs and promote roles on relevant social media channels in new and innovative ways, e.g. Dev Diaries, Vox Pops, day in the life of, etc.;
• Proactively communicate with studio team members in Reflections to create social media content that will connect with studio social media in their own posts;
• Creatively execute tasks and push boundaries to make new things happen;
• Regularly engage with fans at a 1:1 level, encourage discussions and engagement to contribute towards the growth of the community.
Qualifications
Skills and Knowledge
• Existing knowledge of UK games journalists and experience of product social media channels is essential
• Demonstrable understanding of Corporate Communications & Events management
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills;
• Strong project management skills with the ability to execute programs with speed, accuracy and efficiency;
• An eye for detail and a passion for art, design, creativity and quality is essential;
• Passion for social media and able to demonstrate knowledge of current and future trends;
• Able to multi-task and manage many initiatives simultaneously
• Strong ability to manage tasks and projects from concept through to completion;
• Excellent initiative and proactive attitude;
• Able to rapidly adjust to changes;
• Excellent technical skills such as use of Photoshop, Excel, PowerPoint/multimedia, back office tools for web and social media.
Relevant Experience
• 5 years’ minimum experience in a PR/Communications agency or role, direct experience in the games, entertainment, technology industry is essential;
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or other relevant training;
• Experience managing a Facebook fan page, forum, search or other online outbound marketing content is desirable;
• Extensive experience of leading internal communications initiatives and a proven track record of innovation and results within a global organisation.
