SUMMARY
The Marketing Manager is responsible for creating effective IT client reseller marketing plans for test center channel and US military/government audiences, as well as carrying out direct marketing activities across various Pearson VUE distribution channels to meet agreed-upon budgets, sales volumes, program objectives and timelines. The Marketing Manager is also responsible for assisting the Manager, Global IT Marketing in annual strategic marketing planning for the IT and US military/government markets and ensuring marketing activities and tactics are carried out properly to meet Pearson VUE business objectives.
SCOPE AND IMPACT OF JOB
Working closely with Marketing Communications team, the Strategic Marketing team and the mindhub team, the Marketing Manager works as a primary marketing contact between these internal teams, IT Business Development, Channel Sales and other stakeholders to ensure the marketing activities and tactics are developed and implemented in an effective and high quality way. Using his/her marketing expertise, this individual will be responsible for implementing marketing programs as defined in the marketing plan, and they will also be responsible for measuring and tracking promotion effectiveness.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational & Project Management
• Develop marketing initiatives and activities to drive overall test volume for designated products and markets
• Manage all marketing and communications activities and events for assigned products and markets
• Create account marketing plans, timelines and budgets for marketing activities as required
• Manage budget within project and marketing plan, track project expenditures and look for cost efficiencies to maximize marketing dollars
• Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to implement marketing activities and tactics
• Determine success metrics for promotional efforts
Project Execution
• Provide creative direction for marketing initiatives and provide relevant terms & conditions
• Ensure compliance with Pearson VUE brand guidelines and manage required approvals
• Work with other members of the Marcomm Team, freelancers or vendors as needed to execute marketing campaigns
Strategic Planning Support
• Assist in annual strategic marketing planning and implementation of agreed-upon initiatives
• Provide project recaps indicating success metrics and ROI
• Make recommendations based on how to apply learnings to future promotions
Relationship Management
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal channel sales teams
• Act as the primary marketing contact for internal sales and marketing teams as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• BA or BS in marketing, business communications or related field preferred
• 3 - 5 years of marketing experience working on a variety of marketing and market development activities, B2B experience preferred
• Experience working with high-level customer contacts
• Experience managing projects from inception to completion, including managing to a timeline and budget
• Vendor management experience preferred
• Adept at using Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook), experience with graphic design programs preferred
• Experience across multiple promotional vehicles (advertising, collateral, email blasts, Web, direct mail, events, social media) preferred
• Knowledge of electronic testing preferred
• Federal, regulatory and/or academic market experience preferred
