The Charlotte area radio station clusters are looking to hire a Radio Station Operations Manager. This position will be based in Charlotte, NC and will report to the Vice President / Market Manager of the Charlotte cluster. We are looking for a well-rounded, top performer who can be a key contributor in a high-energy growth environment. The ideal candidate is one who has a proven track record and demonstrates job stability with increasing levels of responsibility.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Comprehensive knowledge of radio programming, sales, marketing and positioning with a general knowledge of technology and associated products that affect the radio industry.
• Supervise, Assign and direct work of several department heads in Sales, Programming, Marketing, Syndication, Engineering, Finance, Human Resources and any other departments
• Address complaints and resolve problems in a manner that reflects a positive image of the station(s) and the Company
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Excellent communication skills demonstrated by “quickness on one’s feet”, and the ability to articulate vision and standards and compose clear, precise, well-organized correspondence and proposals.
• Works and relates well with others and creates environment of respect to make recommendations and advise management on business matters
• To develop and maintain effective working relationship with other department heads
• To assure cohesiveness with company policies and procedures
• To function effectively as a catalyst in helping management achieve its goals and objectives
A well-qualified candidate will possess the following:
• 5+ years of experience in financial management with employee supervision
• Radio experience is preferred
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Team player with a positive attitude and a focus on Operational issues
• Capacity to meet deadlines and work under pressure while managing multiple projects
• Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office, Excel and other business applications
• Strong understanding of Radio Broadcasting terms and concepts
• Combination of education and experience in radio broadcasting with proven success in leading and/or developing a radio station, group or cluster.
• Has programmed multiple formats.
