Job Summary:
Responsible for providing leadership and direction to Master Control department. Develops financial and operational objectives. Ensures operational plans are aligned with business objectives. Contributes to functional strategy development. Has a greater degree of impact on business results, and typically manages one or more groups of professional employees.
Core Responsibilities:
• A strong background in leadership related to operations, and understanding of, linear channel origination, broadcast systems, file-based media workflows and media asset management.
• Maintains high level of quality control for encoded media, assuring quality and consistency of on-air look in adherence to audio and video standards.
• Oversees the planning, organizing, and monitoring of the daily scheduling of Master Control resources, including equipment and personnel.
• Develops and implements department strategies, policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Identifies operational issues/problems and initiates solutions.
• Provides leadership and supervision to Managers, Supervisors and Master Control operation staff.
• Performs on-call duties as needed.
• Keeps up to date on new developments within the industry and evaluates potential impacts and advantages to department. This role will be providing key strategic leadership in the future direction of our broadcast operations.
• Takes active role in hiring decisions, corrective action, and performance management.
• Evaluates training needs for department staff and lower-level Management.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• This role will be the primary client interface on all matters related the services we provide.
• Establish and report on key metric indicators, and drive adjustments based on metrics analysis.
• Participate in project related activities associated with new client opportunities or modifications to services provided for existing accounts.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Specification:
• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
• Generally requires 8-11 years related experience
