Content Marketing Manager
Hanley Wood, www.hanleywood.com, is seeking a Content Marketing Manager in our Strategic Marketing Services group. The Content Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading the content development team of 2-3 direct reports and providing quality marketing content and outstanding project management.
He/She must be a creative writer, editor, and information architect who can collaborate with account management staff to develop strategic and tactical solutions to client challenges. This individual will also supervises content developers to ensure the on-time, on-budget delivery of top notch creative products. He/She is also responsible for ensuring the team provides excellent project management from the first call through the delivery of metrics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Management Responsibilities
• Manage projects within scope, quality, time, and cost constraints with minimal oversight from Senior Director or Senior Vice President
• Facilitate successful project definition, planning, budgeting, scheduling, resourcing, and lead high performance project teams while facilitating relationship building among team members
• Proactively build strong relationships with business stakeholders, develop a deep understanding of their business objectives, set and manage project stakeholder expectations, and evaluate alternative business solutions as appropriate
• Manage day-to-day project team activities and stakeholder communications
• Effectively apply project management methodology and enforce project processes and standards accordingly
• Proactively identify project issues and risks and create successful action plans for resolving issues and mitigating risks in a timely fashion
• Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports to management, project team, and other project stakeholders
• Manage and mentor team, as well as coach staff in appropriate time management and client interaction
• Collaborate with account management leads to develop strategic briefs and act as primary creative representative with clients
• Represent creative to client via strategic presentations and problem-solving
• Creative collaboration. Collaborate with content and design staff to ensure the development of creative work that is on budget, on time, strategically sound, meets clients’ business objectives and brand guidelines.
Content Creation and Project Management Responsibilities
• Delivers custom marketing and branding products and services for Hanley Wood clients
• Sources subject matter experts for content development as needed
• Supervises 2-3 staff members and contributes to the management of the freelance talent pool
• Sources new content development talent by actively networking
• Demonstrated history of delivering complex technical projects from initiation to implementation
• Proficient with Project Management tools. (MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Qualified Candidates will possess the following:
• 7+ years of experience and a proven track record of success in developing digital marketing content for external clients
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level of experience in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. MBA or Master's degree in Communications/Marketing preferred. Must have experience motivating and leading direct reports
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, leadership skills, and strong stakeholder management skills
• Goal-oriented, action-focused, highly organized and possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to influence, motivate, build consensus, and mobilize teams and business partners
• Proven ability to deliver projects successfully in an environment with ambiguity, frequent change, and unpredictability
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to accommodate different situations and requirements
• Excellent task management, organization, and team collaboration skills
• Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment
• Excellent command of written and verbal communication for all levels of stakeholders and strong presentation skills
• Sound business and technology acumen
• Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguity.
• Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively
• Excellent ability to work in a team environment as a focused and versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership of wide-ranging responsibilities
• Persistence, resourcefulness, drive, and ability to work proactively
• Desire to contribute meaningfully to project management team and assist in formation of a Project Management Best Practices and system implementation
• Ability to mentor junior and mid-level project managers
• Construction industry knowledge, a plus
