Do you have a strong Recruiter/HR Generalist background with experience in high volume staffing support? If you are energetic, proactive and encompass broad sourcing strategies combined with solid generalist (employee relations) experience, we want to speak to you right away!
Pearson is looking to add a Recruiting Partner/HR Generalist to our team in Iowa City, IA. Responsibilities include:
• Manage full-cycle recruitment process for high volume professional temporary employment
• Provide human resources consultation and guidance to managers and employees to include counseling on policy interpretation, employee relations issues, benefit information and hiring processes.
• Partner with various business managers to strategize and deliver quality talent
• Source viable candidates using employee referral program, LinkedIn Recruiter and other Social Media tools
• Build pipeline of talent by partnering with local city centers, colleges, university, and technical schools
• Thoroughly assess candidate skill set against job requirements via phone interviews; provide candidate summary to hiring group
• Work closely with our internal People Services team to schedule interviews with hiring groups across multiple Pearson locations
• Work closely with our internal People Services team to prepare offer letters, generate online on-boarding events and processes criminal background checks
• Assist with candidate tracking across various recruitment/HRIS platforms
• Develop a full understanding of Pearson culture and become an ambassador of our culture to potential hires
• Champion a recruiting plan that markets Pearson as the employer of choice
• Build buzz about Pearson in the community by participating and engaging with broad spectrum of candidates at local job fairs and other recruiting events
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in HR or other related field is a plus
• 1-2 years of successful sourcing and high volume recruiting experience is a plus
• Strong consultative skills along with the ability to cultivate strong relationships, both inside and outside of the organization
• Knack for creating a recruitment pipeline
• Working knowledge of employment law and industry best practices
• Working experience at guiding resolution of employee relations issues
• Proficiency with HRIS, ATS systems and other recruitment platforms: (Preferred) Taleo ATS, Oracle, SilkRoad, LinkedIn
• A strong customer service mentality, interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• Able to organize, prioritize and complete multiple projects concurrently, with extreme attention to detail
• Demonstrate poise during high stress situations
• Strong focus on punctuality, reliability and flexibility
• Able to work independently and be self-motivated
• Maintain confidentiality
