Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc. (“AEG”) is a subsidiary of The Anschutz Company and one of the leading sports and entertainment presenters in the world. AEG owns a collection of companies including multi-use facilities such as STAPLES Center and Home Depot Center in Southern California, several sports franchises including the Los Angeles Kings (NHL) and Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS) and AEG LIVE, one of the world's leading concert promotions and touring companies. AEG is also currently overseeing the development of L.A. LIVE, 4 million sq. ft. downtown L.A. sports, residential and entertainment district.
Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Facility Services will be responsible for supervising day-to-day facility operations of Barclays Center during events and non-event times. He/She will assist the Manager, Facility Services with planning and implementation of associated work tasks as well as supervise the full and part-time staff to ensure proper completion.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist the Manager with the planning, organizing and supervising all activities and personnel engaged in day to day operations at Barclays Center.
• Review event notes, and taking leadership in the setup and breakdown of chairs, tables, pipe and drape, rubber matting and carpets, giveaways, etc. Additionally, working with the Events department in setting up and converting conference rooms, and banquet rooms, as necessary from event to event.
• Support and assist the Manager with budgeting and staffing plans; recruiting, training, supervising, payroll administration, scheduling and evaluating departmental personnel and service providers.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with VP, Directors, managers, supervisors, employees, patrons, clients, service providers and corporate sponsors.
• Managing third party service providers by enforcing the agreed upon scope of services within the various signed service agreements.
• Develop standard operating procedures for the Facility Services department.
• Preparing and maintaining required reports/records/certifications for the city, code and/or corporate management.
• Preparing projected Event Cost Estimate/Analysis for specific areas of responsibility.
• Provide assistance with monitoring cost accounting expenses for overall budget including but not limited to house equipment rental, supplies and services purchased, event supervision, and staff.
• Continuously review the departmental needs and recommend repairs, maintenance or special projects.
• Creating and implementing purchasing and inventory control systems as it relates to consumable items, tools and equipment within Facility Services.
• Projects as required by the Director, Arena Operations.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in any field plus 2 years of progressively responsible positions and/or post baccalaureate experience in the job offered.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Minimum three years’ experience working in an NHL, AHL or NCAA hockey arena.
• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in any field plus 2 years of progressively responsible positions and/or post baccalaureate experience in the job offered.
• Specific experience as it relates to an 18,000+ seat sports and entertainment facility; organizing and supervising event requirements for sporting and entertainment arena events.
• Must have a continuous drive and passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests, employees, tenants and teams.
• Knowledge and previous experience working with NBA, NHL/AHL, NCAA (hockey and basketball), FELD Entertainment, AEG Live, Live Nation and other concert and family show promoters preferred.
• Developing and managing budgets.
• Must be detail oriented, flexible, and able to work with enthusiasm and professionalism at all times, through a variety of circumstances, using good judgment.
Other Requirements:
• Must have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays when necessary,
and most importantly of all – Must have a Positive attitude and be willing to contribute and learn at all times.
• The ability to demonstrate dependability and reliability by being punctual, working assigned and varying
shifts and completing responsibilities in a timely manner are required.
• Must have the ability to stand, sit, crouch and bend throughout the course of daily activities.
• Ability to work in various climates based on the environment.
• Must have the legal right to work in the US.
• Must have the ability to read, write, and understand English in a working environment.
• Ability to adapt and work effectively in various parts of the facility.
• Must submit to a post-offer criminal background check, employment check and pass a pre-employment
drug test.
