Responsibilities
Universal Brand Development is the business segment of NBCUniversal that extends the NBCU properties to merchandise ranging from apparel, toys, home decor and books to interactive games, food and beverages, stationery, and electronics.
The Director Creative Worldwide Live Entertainment is responsible for overseeing creative development and execution of both touring and location based entertainment. This position will work closely with franchise teams, film groups, creative, and others as needed to ensure that all entertainment that is created is on brand, stays true to the stories and represents NBC Universal, Illumination and DreamWorks properties to the highest standards. The Director will also be responsible for working closely with licensees in development, approval and execution of creative concepts for initial launch as well as ongoing review and maintenance. The director will work in close collaboration with Director of Touring and Director of Location Based Entertainment
Job Duties
Director will manage all incoming creative concepts from licensees and partners, collaborating with all internal departments including film makers, franchise, creative and others as needed to ensure consistency, brand alignment and character appropriateness.
Director will oversee project specific creative consultants for show content, serving as internal liaison with licensees and partners.
Responsible for leading ideation for new ideas for live entertainment with internal stakeholders and outside consultants.
Responsible for ensuring that licensees have most up to date style guides, film reference and brand information for execution of creative on shows and exhibitions.
Oversee character voice needs for entertainment and exhibitions, partnering with internal divisions to make sure all final products accurately represent the properties.
Responsible for ongoing show checks with ensure that quality standards and creative executions are maintained.
Responsible for ensuring that internal stakeholders have creative reviews of show creative at appropriate times to be able to have influence and ultimately approval.
Partner with international offices to ensure entertainment has incorporated any localization and customization.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
8+ years of Creative Entertainment experience required.
3+ years minimum Managerial experience of a team required, with demonstrated supervisory ability
Ability to multi task and deliver on multiple projects, meet tight deadlines and be decisive under pressure.
In depth knowledge of current trends in live entertainment
Excellent understanding of brand and property positioning, licensing, and partner management
Exceptional influence skills
Excellent relationship skills
