The Role:
Bell Mobility is a $6 billion wireless company comprised of postpaid, prepaid and other service revenue. The Bell Finance team is seeking a Senior Manager who has strong analytical and reporting skills and is also able to work closely with finance and business executives in a challenging role. This includes preparation and presentation of monthly results and KPI versus forecast/prior year to executives and challenging business assumptions for reasonableness as well as involvement in various projects to drive value added analysis. In addition, with IFRS 15 accounting policy taking effect in 2018 (including 2017 comparative results), the Senior Manager will need to assist with system testing, help the team build new KPI reporting metrics and update month end processes to account for the new rules.
To succeed in this role you will need to be a proactive leader who can partner with the business and finance primes to analyze month end results focusing on business drivers, lead revenue projects to completion in a fast paced environment while at the same time challenging current assumptions to build an overall improved forecasting/reporting model to identify opportunities and risks in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing insightful commentary and explanations for post-paid revenue, by analyzing monthly results in various systems and understanding business initiatives at the segment, region, device and rate plan level as well as incorporating network usage volumes.
• IFRS 15 Implementation - Assist with system testing, help the team build new KPI reporting metrics and update month end processes to account for the new requirements.
• Build insightful revenue, KPI and usage volume reports that are automated for monthly distribution
• Leverage month end reported results in order to work with the business and forecasting primes to enhance a driver based revenue planning model
• Responsible for month-end close including preparation and review of complex journal entries
• Provide financial knowledge and represent finance in various Wireless projects which impact the billing system and post-paid revenue
• Main contact for Post-paid revenue for Marketing Primes, Revenue Assurance and Cross functional support teams including Network and IT
• Review SOX control testing on a monthly basis to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act
• Review business cases for impact to revenue
• Lead a team of three finance managers
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
• CPA designation
• Methodical thinker with strong analytical skills and ability to manage/manipulate large amounts of data in order to identify business driver relationships/trending as well as potential revenue opportunities
• Strong communication and leadership skills to build relationships at various levels of the organization and the confidence to participate in senior-level discussions
• Ability to create powerful and concise presentations for executives
• Previous finance experience in a leadership role
• Able to motivate, coach and delegate to the team to ensure tight deadlines are met
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues
• Highly motivated and results-oriented
• Ability to partner with cross-functional operational and finance teams
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
