Responsibilities
The Director, International Sourcing will be a part of the NBCUniversal Sourcing organisation; and be responsible for Sourcing activities related to Physical Production, Facilities/G&A and Technology. The individual will be working hand in hand with all areas in film and television production, and with various divisions engaging in Technology and Facilities/G&A category spend, to pursue the company’s sourcing objectives and initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements
This individual will be expected to drive value and held accountable to the sourcing goals of the team.
•Assist category strategy and processes by performing deep data analysis of category spend and help to organise and execute strategic opportunities stemming from the analysis.
•Work with regional business partners to leverage the business short term and long term goals, to validate sourcing strategies and prioritise opportunities.
•Carry out sourcing functions including:
oComplex and/or large scale RFPs and RFIs as needed;
oEvaluation of supplier fit based on pre-determined selection criteria;
oPreparation and execution of clear, structured negotiation of complex deal terms and contracts;
oMonitoring supplier adherence to contracts,
oCalculating the cost savings/value added benefits for sourcing opportunities, and
oReporting Procurement/Supply Chain performance metrics.
•Proven track record in establishing strong Service Level Agreements and thus ensuring supplier sustained performance.
•Effectively and efficiently manage cross functional projects in a matrix organisation.
•Influence and maintain strong relationships with business partners by serving as a partner, and providing sourcing and procurement services that meet expectations
•Ability to anticipate problems and solutions requiring evaluation of tangible and often intangible variables
•Communicate and report to management the status of any critical relationships that could affect planning and decision-making
•Continually assess market conditions and develop sourcing strategies that maximise value to NBC Universal
•Analyse marketing industry trends and conditions that affect internal stakeholders and external suppliers and/or pricing
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications
•BS/BA Business, Economics, or related area, Master’s degree highly preferred
•MCIPS certification preferred
•Demonstrable professional experience in strategic sourcing/procurement,
category/project management, supplier relationship management, supply chain, or management consulting
Desired Characteristics
•Media/Entertainment, Television or film production, or supply chain experience.
•Knowledge and experience of principles, methods and practices related to strategic sourcing, and/or complex project management
•Experience in one or more categories including television or film production, post production, Home Entertainment supply chain or a closely related technical (soft) operations function
•Strong negotiation skills involving complex, analytical category matters
•Demonstrated ability to define opportunities and risks, and facilitate selection of appropriate alternatives backed by strong data gathering and analytical skills
•Highly motivated self-starter and creative thinker
•Extremely strong oral and written communication skills; relationship building skills
•Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
•Impeccable organisational and time management skills to juggle multiple projects to meet deadlines and objectives
•Eligibility to work in the UK
