The Role
The Executive Director of Creative, Intelligence role reports directly to the Chief Creative Officer and is responsible for delivering strategic and tactical intelligence reports and consultancy to a portfolio of global clients that includes C-Suite executives, corporate communications teams, global communication consultancies and international media organisations.
The Storyful Intelligence team combines the skills of researchers, journalists, data analysts and communications professionals, and works with a diverse portfolio of global clients. The team researches social trends and data to provide intelligence around events, launches and key areas of interest to companies. The Executive Director of Creative, Intelligence will work with internal product and sales teams to develop world-class, innovative intelligence solutions and go-to-market strategies for C-Suite communications executives.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of eight years of experience in a corporate communications agency environment, and is passionate about the potential of data-driven social intelligence to lead the way in the development of strategic communication plans. This role demands a flexible attitude and attention to detail. You have the ability to multitask on projects at varying levels of complexity, collaborate across teams and coordinate efforts across editorial, sales and product to ensure the team accomplishes its goals on deadline. You will also work with the Chief Creative Officer on the strategic development of the Intelligence team, contributing to the overall growth of Storyful.
Responsibilities:
• Takes responsibility to work with the team to deliver against client execution, meeting and exceeding Key Performance Indicators
• Actively participates in the building of solutions based on market direction and client needs
• Takes responsibility to work with the Sales and Intelligence teams to deliver against RFPs (request for proposal) from a strategic intelligence and consultancy standpoint
• Develops and implements best practice processes within the team
• Mentors and manages the development of all Intelligence Team members, identifying and acting on areas for upskilling
• Works with the CCO to identify partnerships and opportunities that will fuel the team’s success
• Provides the CCO with weekly team, client and new business opportunity updates
• Works with the CCO to identify and meet metrics measuring the team’s success
• Works with sales, product and editorial teams on special projects
• Writes and edits concise and accurate copy to publish internally and on public platforms
• Actively drive the sharing of best practice within the team
• Supports the development of team members on specific daily projects as well as coaching them on short and long-term initiatives and goals
Skills & Experience required:
• 8 +years experience within a corporate communications consultancy environment
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and unite teams
• Strategic counsellor with the ability to inspire confidence and trust with clients
• Excellent communication, presentation and client management skills
• Proven experience of identifying and securing new business and revenue opportunities with existing and new clients
• Proven experience as a leader in strategic client communications
• Innovative, proactive and hands-on approach to providing clients with creative solutions to address their challenges
• Aptitude for building and leveraging business resources and processes to ensure the team works effectively
• Can work strategically to identify core insights and intelligence to drive communications outcomes
• Proficiency in writing skills to craft internal and client correspondence, communications plans, new business proposals, etc.
• BA/MA qualified in a related discipline
