Team and position highlights:
The Security Advisor must comprehend Bell Canada’s security management environments, internal clients as well as managed clients (external clients) in connection with the services provided by the operations center for the security of Bell Canada.
The technical advisory position – security requires good knowledge of market trends, identification of customer needs, management of all the technological capabilities, processes and business applications necessary to support security management deliverables of all security operations centers. The advisory also acts as an advisor to the management and guidance for the team.
The successful candidate will understand all of the security management requirements agreed with the customer as defined in the contracts. The advisor will be responsible for defining the entire technological capacities essential to support the security management services. In addition, he will get significant results related to the service and operation using the tools properly, products, functions or practices mentioned. He will take advantage of the monitoring, evaluation and analysis of current performance.
The Security Advisor will also, as necessary, work on call with a security incident response team; his expertise will conduct investigation and propose mitigation measures. The successful candidate must be able to obtain level security clearance "secret" in hiring.
The Security Advisor must comprehend the security management environments of Bell Canada. This position requires adequate knowledge of the overall technological capabilities, procedures and operational applications in order to support security management deliverables of any security operations center.
The successful candidate should comprehend all security management requirements agreed upon with the client for operational performance and deliverables of the internal infrastructure, inter-networking relationships and the security management practices required such as and in accordance to the contract.
The position is during business hours and requires occasional after hours availability during major implementations. The candidate will also, as deemed necessary, work on call among the security incident response team to direct investigations and mitigation measures. The technology leader acts as an advisor to the management for guidance pertaining to the technology under their responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Exercise a technical advisory role; endorse a mentoring approach to other members of the Security Operations Management team.
• Coordinate projects and operational activities to enable the development of beneficial solutions for customers in the context of a high performance security operation.
• Supervise the implementation and the development of new technologies and new services, analysis of operational impacts and network management processes, training and management platforms plans.
• Analyze the effectiveness of the service and operational security processes and propose necessary adjustments
• Ensure a technology watch in relation to customer and security environments under the governance of operational security management center.
• Reviews and interprets alerts and system notifications and provide advanced emergency services, incident management and analysis (according to industry specific and contractual requirements) to support security management clients.
• Perform comparative analysis on the results from the industry specific constant evolving threats, vulnerabilities and all other malware launched on the Internet.
• Depending on the nature of the threat perceived, assess and develop mitigation measures to ensure that appropriate mitigation is applied, and ensure that customers and management are informed.
• Take proactive measures to manage all security equipment under the responsibility of the team.
• Develop complex documentation to allow trend analysis, design solutions and operating guides or various deliverables agreed with customers.
• Observe strict security protocols associated with all security management practices.
• Authenticate all requests for services by applying authentication techniques in constant evolution.
• Support sales as a subject matter expert and provide adequate assistance to meet the bid or help them provide the best possible solutions to meet the needs expressed.
• Design Bell Network to keep it secure of any type of cyber attacks.
• Select and/or approve new technologies
• Perform security audits to evaluate possible breach of security. The audits include penetration test and scanning of the Network to identify vulnerabilities
Technology Leader (mentor) on one of the following security domains:
• SIEM (Security Information and Event Management)
• Perimeter Security Management (Operations)
• Security Events Management (Detection & mitigation)
• Prevention and Compliance Management (Prevention)
Critical Competencies:
• In collaboration with the team’s advisors and other internal teams, ensure the evolution of the security domain under your responsibility in order to comply and meet business needs.
• Collaboration with the sales team to respond to service offers.
• Ensure the continuous documentation of the domain under your responsibility.
• Ensure and maintain vendor relationships (support contracts, training, development and orientation).
• Ensure and maintain internal and external client relationships.
• Ensure the team has the appropriate training to deliver the services.
• Review and approve all changes affecting the domain under your responsibility.
• Act as leader and/or collaborate with colleagues on projects requiring your expertise.
• Evaluate innovations or new products related to the domain under you responsibility.
• Participate in annual budget exercise (PEATS) to identify required investments.
• Act as leader in the management of events and incidents.
• At this level, the Security Advisors have a lot of autonomy. They are involved in several layer (political and technical)
• They do have contact with external customers and internal LOB’s
• The Security Advisor has to interact with external and internal customers. Impact on both type of business (internal and external) can be major if there is a security incident. As such, he can be contacted at any time 7/24.
• The technical advisor can have to provide regular status to upper manager like Senior Director, VPs, PVP., etc…)
• Bilingual (French and English)
