Responsibilities
The CNBC International Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive operational HR support across the CNBC International business. This includes covering all HR Co-ordinator level responsibilities in addition to partnering with some business managers in specific areas of the Employee Lifecycle and leading some projects. The role reports into the VP, HR and works closely with the HR Managers and HR Co-ordinator in the CNBC London and Singapore teams.
The objective of the role is to provide excellent HR support to the business in an efficient and customer focused way. This role will operate at all levels of the business, providing advice, solutions, support and partnering on all aspects of the core employee lifecycle and organisational management which includes but not limited to the following key areas:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Attract
Be proactive to find and attract the best candidates to the CNBC Int. business – inc. internal talent when and where appropriate
Responsible for recruitment administration, inc. posting of roles on internal and external job boards, maintaining the recruitment tracker
Ensure recruitment processes are clear, efficient and in line with business needs
Oversee the overall recruitment and selection process but ensure you are closely aligned with our internal Talent Acquisition team to maximise the candidate pool and use the most appropriate advertising resources
Work in partnership with the Hiring Manager to guide them through the right selection process for the role whilst ensuring consistency and fairness, conducting competency based interviews as required
Ensure the full feedback loop is concluded and that all candidates receive an excellent consistent recruitment experience
Work with the hiring manager on the onboarding process and ensure the candidate has the right onboarding experience
Manage employee background checks, ensuring completion
Be a brand ambassador throughout the hiring process to all internal and external resources
Prepare contracts and amendments letters for new and/or existing staff
Proactively support the broader Campus2Career experience
Deal with correspondence regarding unsolicited CVs and maintain the recruitment portal sending correspondence to candidates and ensuring that requisition folders are closed in timely manner
Ensure that all induction pack and offer letter materials are current and in stock
Create employees’ accounts, issuing employees’ SSO numbers to Managers for access request prior to employees’ start date
Create new employee HR files as required
Ensure probation periods are reviewed by line managers and any performance issues addressed in a timely manner. Issue letters confirming outcome of probation reviews
Own the relationship with Handle (or relevant provider) to ensure compliant engagement of freelancers
Systems & Processes
Ensure all actions from new hires, leavers, merit increases and benefits are accurately recorded in SAP
Work with the Reward team to obtain accurate benchmarking information in light of headcount requests and work with the HR Manager to agree pragmatic solutions that meet business requirements
Maintain and update employee database (SAP, EuHReka & E-days) and technology as required
Update Global Mobility contact on changes to any company sponsored employee’s details an densure that immigrations procedures are followed
Support employees and members of the HR community to self-serve using HR technology
Assist and support in the leavers process.
Qualifications/Requirements
Payroll & Benefits
Work with payroll to provide all employment changes on a monthly basis.
Provide data to benefit providers on changes, new joiners and leavers.
Employee Relations
Provide outstanding HR services to managers and employees by acting as the first line of support for basic HR queries following up with more detailed support where appropriate
Organise and maintain the filing system for current staff and leavers
Fulfil reference requests for current and former employees
Admin and support in maintaining employee records, inc.merit and bonus letters, changes in contract etc
Provide admin support for any restructure and redundancies processes
Respond to employee & manager requests promptly, managing multiple stakeholders
Manage and resolve complex employee queries
Be the key contact for maternity/paternity employees ensuring the process is followed and schedules updated
Learning & Development
Support the VP and HR Managers to drive key HR initiatives, including performance management, succession planning, annual surveys and key employee communications
Be a brand ambassador for CNBC & NBCU development offerings and ensuring you are able to respond to employees’ and managers’ queries regarding the offerings
Provide admin support to the VP and HR Manager in relation to Talent Review, Talent Lab nominations and other Learning and Development initiatives
Project Work
Actively participate in and lead HR projects as and when required
Other
Use HR technology to provide reports and data to HR and business leaders
Provide general support to VP and HR Managers to roll out HR Programmes e.g. goal setting and annual comp review
Provide coaching and support to the HR co-ordinator in APAC in order to ensure a consistent approach across CNBC International
Have some alignment to a business unit and provide for support in ER cases, programme roll out etc
Check and process HR invoices with business lines
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
CIPD qualified (desirable but not essential)
Solid experience across the HR generalist spectrum
Experience of managing employee relations activity independently
Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Ability to multi-task and to be flexible is essential
Demonstrated ability to assess internal practices and implement a new approach to improve department efficiency
Display a high attention to detail and a methodical approach
Ability to prioritise workload, excellent organisation and time management skills
Ability to be discreet and professional when handling sensitive and confidential information
Have an adaptable, collaborative and open style who has the ability to navigate through a complex matrix organisation spread across numerous International territories
Ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
Possess a solution orientated mind-set who has the ability to deliver on potentially complex matters in a timely and efficient way
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Ability to be a proactive communicator and self-starter is key.
Professional and calm manner.
Experience of interviewing candidates competency based questions desirable.
