DESCRIPTION:
The Director II Content Architect oversees and actively designs and manages the development and launch of new systems and technologies in support of Content management at CBS. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of on air automation systems, digital content transformation, editing software, online video serving, cloud hosting and cloud storage, high speed secure file transfer protocols and content management systems. Expertise in video and audio compression technologies, encryption protocols, streaming media delivery protocols, and demonstrated knowledge of business process management software is required.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with business stakeholders and IT to research, recommend and implement technologies in support of secure file storage of our media content.
• Partner with business stakeholders and IT to build system integrations between systems responsible for content management, editing, metadata management, cloud video playout systems and distribution systems where applicable.
• Partner with the CBS internal infrastructure teams to research, recommend and implement technologies in support of secure high speed content streaming, download and distribution.
• Partner with business stakeholders and IT in support of special projects, such as Critical security analysis and healthy IT.
• Partner with business stakeholders and IT to establish best practices for testing new technologies being implemented.
• Partner with the Broadcast Operations and Creatives Services departments across Showtime, identifying opportunities within the businesses to increase productivity and efficiency.
• Responsible for project estimating and budget creation and presenting to executive management
• Manage consultants and dotted line team members
• Stay abreast of current and future technologies supporting production and distribution.
• Design an enterprise strategy for content management unify technology across the various CBS divisions where applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of fifteen years’ experience managing and implementing solutions in the broadcast and digital space.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or equivalent work experience is required.
• Prior experience working with data security and business continuity programs.
• Prior experience working with network security.
• Understanding and experience working with file transfer protocols and services
• Understanding and experience working with on premises and cloud based storage technology
• Understanding of compression algorithms used for video and audio
• Experienced in system administration and management
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Effective problem solver; able to assess and adapt to changing priorities and strategies.
• Candidate must be able to work autonomously under heavy deadline driven projects.
