The Challenge Ahead:
As the Finance Manager, you will have a broad range of responsibilities directly and indirectly related to the monthly, quarterly and year end close processes for EA Limited and EA Ireland.
What a Finance Manager does at EA:
• Ownership and management of all balance sheet accounts, including journal entries, reconciliations and analysis.
• Ownership for month end close reporting through Hyperion and month end reconciliation reporting through Cadency, EA’s reconciliation tool.
• Control and review of monthly financial close process, maintenance and control of GL procedure documents and close schedules.
• Continuous improvement of the quality of financial reporting both internal and external.
• Own and drive Day-3 meetings, working closely with FPA and budget holders to ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly SG&A activity.
• Ensure revenue recognition is in line with Electronic Arts corporate reporting requirements.
• Provide a high level of customer service within finance and to other business partners.
• Delegate and review work carried out by offshore supporting accounting team.
• Prepare for and present at annual balance sheet review.
• Spend a portion of time on projects and identifying process improvements and efficiencies.
• Prepare memos on accounting issues as required.
• Develop and maintain External Audit. Further, act as liaison between external auditors and business partners during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• VAT return submissions and other local compliance document filings
• Preparation of transfer pricing adjustments
• Preparation of tax provisions
• Preparation of draft statutory accounts
• Act as a backup for other Northern region entities (holiday cover, sickness etc)
The next great EA Finance Manager also needs:
• Fully Qualified or Finalist ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
• Good technical accounting and reconciliation skills
• Fluency in English
• Experience with team management
• Proven ability to effectively coordinate with Global teams (including offshore teams) and obtain desired results in a timely manner.
• Strong compliance and internal controls experience and a willingness to ensure maintenance of an up to date technical awareness of relevant local and US GAAP, corporate governance and tax issues.
• The ability to effectively communicate technical and general accounting issues to less qualified staff or non-finance staff and managers
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Oracle R12 and Hyperion Financial Management a plus
• Disciplined self-starter with strong attention to detail and accountability for own work and the work of others
• Passion for data integrity, process definition and organizational alignment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; polished professional; communicates with impact
• Able to handle multiple and sometimes competing priorities
• Thinks outside of the box; willing to challenge existing processes to drive efficiency
• Is a team player, adept at building relationships within Finance and across organizations
